It's hard to imagine, yet the obvious is the case. There are so many people who have never been invited for a chat with the HR of any company.

Your CV writing is poor and you have little or no experience.

Even if na technical department you deem for church, add am (as a newbie). it helps.

i just got a job of 60k to resume on monday but guess what my roommate in school then who dropped out after second year just bought a Lexus GS worth about 4million.. as i am now i am confused weather to pick that job or just go the way of my roommate.. for those of you that will ask me where

I hate seeing job advert like mad, I do make it to the interview stage n las las them no go call me. The one that pain me most was firstbank, I don even sign guarantor form and agree on salary. And I was told they will send me mail to when I will resume and the branch. Naso I no hear anything. An my hustle dey pay now n somehow life is still fear cox I render services to md of banks, oil companies etc n I charge dem well. If I'm not qualified to work under you I'm qualified to render service for you. Anyhow I'm still paid

When I was an engineer, I applied to over 500 jobs and It took me a year to get an interview which led to a job. Switched to IT and when I was job hunting, I was getting at least ten interviews every week even for very big IT firms.

Do professional courses especially in IT. I did courses in IT security, even though i came out with a third class, am doing well with a very well paying job.

Though the certification courses might be expensive just do it if you can afford it.

I'm really glad I fully switched into software development, that's my best career decision

CV may be an issue but trust me it's just a minor issue, some people actually have nothing to write on their CV, they have no tangible skills to offer the company

In IT (and most fields) most recruiters care less about your fancy CV, they only care about languages you write and projects you've worked on

An accounting firm will probably never employ you if you can't even post a simple ledger nor an auditor employ someone clueless about auditing

Read the article carefully, you will understand what the poster is driving at.

Everyone is not meant to work for someone, everyone is not meant to have a office job, do not clash with your destiny. With that said, majority of Nigerian graduates cannot write a proper CV/Resume, majority of jobs requires 3-8 years experience, where you wan get am as a fresh graudate? This is why it is important to start the process of job hunt before you leave school. Starting from your 2nd year, find a local company that would employ you as an intern or understudy, make sure it relates to what you're studying. A year or two experience with such company will look so good on your CV/Resume.

Furthermore some courses have 1 year or 6 months I.T or Practicum, take advantage of it. Finally, there's nothing less desirable than someone looking for a job while jobless, most companies nowadays wants to drag you away from other companies, the HR believes if you're truly a top talent then you should have something that you're doing. Ability to show this on your CV/Resume puts you at an advantage over most candidates, remember the HR does not know you, your degree does not make you stand you, what makes you stand out is your job history/activities, outside of education, how have you shown leadership/efficiency/teamwork?
