Nigeria allowed Banks instead of Telcoms to run mobile money. Yes they badly need it but don't expect miracles. The money supply will not increase. The velocity and ease of transaction will improve - and yes banking/financial services will be better.

When it come to internet - important thing apart from the cost is the speed. Kenya companies use to give you unlimited internet for cheap but internet would degrade. It was shared. The same for Ghana - company can give you 90GB of shared data. In kenya that would cause problems.

Safaricom unlimited fiber is like 4k (40 dollars) a month - not capped - not shared.

Kenya internet speed are world class for that reason.

what are you actually saying . in Ghana we have what we called GHIPPS. go learn about it. registering on mobile money here means having a bank account . you can automatically do the same of what you will do with your bank account with your your mobile wallet. nothing again .

Interop was long rolled out - and it pretty useless because again MPESA is like 99% of mobile money. People have Mpesa line even if they use Airtel.

i have not been to kenya to ascertain how true is the statement but the very video blogger himself said the speed wasn't quite impressive in some certain area while it is good in some certain area . and about the cost , he was of the opinion , it was way way higher. in fact , he uxtapose the price in the video.
