Ibadanpikin:Well, you might be right but I'm just biding my time. I just wanna see how we'll play Slavia first. I hope we win the cup. We really really need that, and I hope Arteta instills that confidence in them. Slavia winning Leicester and rangers means we need to be at our best. Esp as we're playing at home first |

Ibadanpikin:My brother, Inconsistencies will always find a way to bite you whether domestic or in Europe. Last season we were inconsistent in the league and rode our luck to domestic cup completions, but do you remember what happened in Europe against Olympiacos in 2020? When we drew Olympiacos we underestimated them and many were convinced it was an easy draw but you and know what happened.. We nearly suffered the same fate against them on Thursday, they were a goal away from knocking us out. How about the finals against Chelsea last season? We had lost to Palace, Wolves, Leceister City, drew Brighton, beat Burnley before getting drubbed by Chelsea in the Final.. |

Roland17:Nah... This isn't a fact. They needed to beat us 3-0 ystdy to eliminate us not 2-0 |

Roland17:2 goals actually if they had scored the second goal that would have been sweet cos they used away goal rule to knock us out |

Jodera:Yes that slavia team are very good at away Arsenal must be cautious. And again Rangers were given a red card.I believe with experience Arsenal will overcome them. |

Roland17:Also, I know you don't want to put all your whole hopes on arsenal cos of their inconsistencies in previous years(which you have every right to do so), but I just feel you should give this squad a benefit of doubt compared to the one that lost to Chelsea at Europa final 2 seasons ago. Firstly, that's a different squad compared to this. Almost 60% of the starting lineup if not more are different from the one of 2 seasons ago. The coaches also are very different Looking at the squad that we lost against Chelsea and this one, I think I prefer this one to the that one. Also, I believe the table doesn't too reflect our real position. Yes we're 10th, but I can recall the 2 contrasting style of play before our game in December and after that. Now, we look to control more in games and create more chances compared to early this season. The 10th was just the implication of starting very very very poorly. To be honest, I'll give Arteta next season to truly access him not this, cos the lack of Am at first really altered and spoiled a lot of things |

Ibadanpikin:They were already beating rangers(on aggregate) before the red card. But then, I just hope our experience, and pedigree see us through to the semis |

iamoyindamola:if they had scored 2nd goal(thereby winning us 2-0), we would still have qualified ooo. Asin... ARSENAL WOULD HAVE QUALIFIED ![]() |

Jodera:You make a great point about the difference in the team, however, it has not translated into much as far as consistency and results. To me, our position on the table is an ABSOLUTE REFLECTION of our inconsistency and overall play this season. We have not played better than any of the top 6/7 teams in the league and that is a fact! We are making the same mistake our players make before they approach games. We allow optimism become exaggerated belief without being realistic. I am not going to take Sparta any lightly because they made it to this stage for a reason and our inconsistency bothers me. Spuds led their series against Dynamo 2-0 heading to the 2nd leg.. They had the better players but we know that ended. Can we win the series? Yes, but we can lose it just as much and even more quicker because of our uncanny ability to complicate very simple things. |

Jodera:Had they gone 2-0 up within 5mins to the end of that match, do you think we would be having this discuss? As for Slavia, they are unbeaten in the home league after 23 games. They knocked out Leicester and made a mess of Rangers away (Rangers had two players sent off). Speaks volumes. |

Roland17:True words. We just hope for better ending to this season |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 2:10am On Mar 20, 2021 |
Spy360:That's not the issue. The issue is, would 2-0 be enough to eliminate us? That's what I try to correct that it wouldn't. As for Slavia, I Believe nobody here is underestimating them, I just hope the players isn't too. Also, we're at a slight disadvantage here cos we're playing at home first. I just hope we end the business in 1st leg |

Jodera:0laying home first for me is an advantage as we can win without much pressure. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 8:17am On Mar 21, 2021 |
Spy360:Really? Well, I always thought otherwise cos if any mistake happens in the first leg, then the pressure will fully be upon us going into the 2nd leg away |

Jodera:A 0-0 first leg draw at home is a slight advantage going into the second leg away. As any goal you score counts as two. That was what Slavia used against Rangers, and Porto against Juventus. The only advantage for playing the second leg at home is if both teams are tied on aggregate after 90mins, you have the advantage of 30mins extra time at home but that in itself is tricky as any goal from the opposition can easily dislodge you. |
