1) Boko haram had over 100k members, pls go to YouTube and check Muhammad yusuf preaching and then see the numbers of people listening to him, so it will easy to get 5k who wants to fight for the sect...Muhammed Yusuf was so popular that even your present minister of Technology ISA PATAMI interviewed him and was closed to him.

Was boko haram used as a means to get vote? Yes.
After election, the governor saw no use of them and then went against them, no wonder, they took up weapons, i still stand with my point, the police escalated the issue.

2) Boko haram and Al-Shabaab are 2 different groups with different ideologies and there was never a time they merge together, boko haram didn't come from al Qaeda, it was formed on its own since 2002 and idealogy was strictly the taliban method, al shabaab was formed in 2006 after the break down of the islamic court in somalia.

High time we adopt a "gloves off" policy and bomb them to hell. All those tiny villages/settlements in northern Borno should be cleared and inhabitants relocated to major towns and the airforce adopts a "scorched earth" policy for those bastards.

The air force has always had the capability , with the sepecat jaguar and the alpha jet has the capability to deploy this weapon system.
Truly if you have been inside major armouries in Nigeria, you'll wonder why boko haram still exist.
The philosophy then in the battlebus against bht was different than now, and so that innocent population won't be killed, trust me, if we were to fight Chad or Cameroon the amount of weapons that we would bare down in the enemy , would be devastating on them, only that they platforms to deliver most of these weapons are lacking now.
