Funny set of people. There is no love lost in their midst,though they are brothers. I have suffered a whole lot from the hands of my Ibibio sisters whom I have regarded as sisters despite their troubling attitude. Though being Annang, a subtribe of Ibibio, I enjoyed a whole lot of acceptability and love from my Igbo brothers than from Akwa Ibom people. Just wondering why they hate themselves!!! |

Thats how AK people are making land claims up and down..In my local government in Abia,we have a common boundary with them,we practically share farm lands..That's how people in Ariam(the last community in Ikwuano b4 AK proper)are going missing and dying in intercommunal clashes.. 2 Likes |

So all those policemen at that boundary checkpoint who loves extorting motorist multiple times there cannot stop communal clash? Then what's their usefulness over there? garfield1:Oga, pls tell me the differences. I have never seen an Ekiti man saying He is different from an Egba or Ijebu man. Why is it that the majority seem to unite among their various sun-ethnic groups but we Akwa Ibomite believe that an Annang man is different from an Ibibio man? This is a serious problem we have.No wonder the Ijaws are now being seen as the fourth largest ethnic group while we the Ibibios(Annang, Efik, Ibibio, Oron, Eket, Andonis-Ibeno, Enyong) have lost our rightful place in Nigeria. They may be variation in their language(I was taught Efik language, there in Akwa Ibom in Primary School), which is a feature in other ethnic groups, but they understand each other through the mother language, Ibibio proper.
