The Joint Committee on Aviation of the National Assembly has commended Governor Willie Obiano for the level of work at the ongoing Cargo International Airport at Umueri in Anambra East Local Government Area.

Members of the Committee including, Senator Smart Adeyemi, Chief Nnolim Nnaji, Senator Uche Ekwunife, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and Chief Chinedu Obidigwe, and others visited the airport for inspection with Governor Willie Obiano and his wife Dr Ebelechukwu.

On arrival, it was gathered that the tower is ninety percent completed, the apron is completed, the runway is ninety seven percent completed, while the terminal building is ninety seven percent completed, as well as the taxi ways which is ninety seven percent completed.

While pointing out that aviation is key to socio economic development, as such requires special attention, Chairman Senate Committee on Aviation, Senator Smart Adeyemi, expressed optimism that the airport will become one of the best in Nigeria.

He observed that the mixture of materials, height of the tower and other fixtures are of standard, adding that it will accelerate development of the region and country.

He advised that Governor Obiano as well as whoever will succeed him, should endeavour to harness the rich potential of Ndi Anambra and make the airport viable especially through importation and exportation of goods and services.

The Chairman Aviation Committee in the House of Representatives, Chief Nnolim Nnaji who said that critical aspects of the airport are almost ready for takeoff, assured that they will assist the state government to achieve the vision of making the airport functional, expressing optimism that the airport will become viable, being the largest airport in Nigeria, after Lagos State.

Responding, Governor Obiano emphasized that no money was borrowed for the project, adding that equipment for the tower has been paid for and will soon arrive the State.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Works, Mr Marcel Ifejiofor explained that the airport has being designed in a way that it can take any plane in the world.

Also speaking, the Senator representing Anambra Central, Mrs Uche Ekwunife, while commending the Works Commissioner and team, said that the airport project is worth commending, describing it as a viable and legacy project.

Government House Correspondent Ejike Abana reports that the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Primus Odili, Local Government Transition Committee Chairmen, among others, were part of the inspection visit.

Useless frustrated pathetic bastard, you thought I will not respond to your tirade. Your own state is littered with dirty environment, okada, barrow pushers, tiny dilapidated roads. Your state is cursed, no wonder you are always here crying because of envy and frustration cheesy

In your own state capital it is filled with mud houses, what has your state governor done to modernise it?

Your state capital is littered with filth, what has your governor done to fix that?

Your state capital is littered with dilapidated roads, what has your governor done to fix that?

In your state capital, you lots don't even have toilets but shit inside waterproof, what has your governor done about that?

Poverty level in your state is so high that you lots are still living in huts, mud houses and caves, what has your governor done about it?

At least while you are in Anambra you are living in a decent house with toilets unlike your home state where you people live in mud houses without toilets. You can now see why Anambra is like America compare to your backward shithole state.

Are you happy about the miserable dilapidated filthy condition of your state? Don't you wish people to discuss about your shithole state the way they discuss about the progressive Anambra? Open your own thread to discuss about your cursed backward useless hopeless shithole state. cheesy
