Because many of the drivers don’t know what traffic lights are for, as they mostly come in from outside Owerri from other places in the state where no good roads exist, talk less, traffic lights.

In one city of Europe, one Nigerian was freed by a court after he caused an accident by beating red light, when he told the court that he did not know what the lights were for, because such lights don’t exist in his country he came from.

People in Imo shall soon start to see hell from cultivating only one modern city - Owerri - for Imo state.

I am very surprised if this is actually the case for the most educated state in the country

Most educated state in the country?

Due to concentration of all tertiary education institutions in Imo state in Owerri, Mass education was reserved for Owerri senatorial district whose people profit from closeness to the education institutions in Owerri senatorial district.
They successfully used the mass education to drive every state governor of the state crazy with agitation for concentration of modern development infrastructures in Owerri senatorial district.
If you talk about development in Orlu or Okigwe zones in the state, they call you a crazy person.

“Most of the people I know that are from Okigwe have not been to Okigwe for many years.” - so said the man making the aerial view video of Okigwe above.

Why? Because people from Orlu and Okigwe zones are punished with abandoning their hometowns for Owerri where modern development institutions and amenities are allowed in Imo state.!

You, because of your hotels and pimping/harlotry businesses in Owerri, you don’t want to take ears hear anyone talking about extending government development institutions and amenities in other places in Imo state.

Call yourself a fool many many times.

.. while you stay on social media 24/7 highlighting what government must do to make Owerri the giant city you crave.
Intelligent by half. The other once rapidly developing towns in Imo state get development arrest.

Your suggestion:
People from places outside Owerri capital city to develop their hometowns while politicians leading your state plough the federal allocations of the state and its LGAs in building Owerri district, particularly build roads to improve the market value of their landed properties they acquired in Owerri all the years they have been in government.

Loads of buildings built by former governor Rochas Okorocha in Owerri are either abandoned or now marked for demolition.
Foolishness makes you people drive your politicians to act as if all government development landmarks in a state must be built in the state capital.
An Awo man like you who denies his hometown because of his pimpping and hotel business in Owerri can’t advice anyone on self-help development issues.

Good one. At least we can see that Imo is not a one city state as some people are trying to make it here. Okigwe is just the 3rd largest city. there are also Oguta, Nkwerre, Mbaise, Obowo, Umuaka etc
