People keep saying gabling is a sin and is bad but am yet to see a biblical stand on gambling being a sin, those that I ask are yet to convince me.

Pleaes I will like those in the house who are very conversant with the bible to enlighten us on this.

If the the bible condemns it then the explanation can really help a lot of people quit gambling.

I'm not a Bible scholar but i can remember i read where Jesus scattered a temple where people were gambling...I think God doesn't like it for him to do that

Gambling is a no no. Maybe you should ask if Jesus supports gambling instead ;DDo you need powerbank for laptop, over ten hours guaranteed and twenty hours possible. Increase your productivity and work when you like. Don't get mistaken for a Yahoo boy because of your generator noise. Ready to impress!
Where do you find that gambling is a sin? undecided

Gambling is not listed as a sin anywhere in the Bible... not even in the Teachings of Jesus Christ Himself, so it is not a sin to those of the New Covenant either.

Gambling is bad. It stops productive activity and engages wealth transfer without product and service exchange. It is exactly like armed robbery but is done mutually and randomly. Something that's bad for all humans irrespective of their involvement in gambling.

God is the one who makes the Law and He is the Law and according to the Law, Jesus Christ, Gambling is not a Sin. undecided

That you choose to believe it bad for you, does not then mean it is indeed bad for everyone else. undecided

Keep shut and get wisdom. It is bad and as good as a sin. It is motivates by same thing that drives greed and remember God kooks at the heart so gambling is officially a sin. Anything done without faith is sin. Gambling is a 100% faithless venture and therefore a sin.

Sin is disobedience of the commandments of God. undecided

Where God has given no commandments, you are instructed not to add to His Law your own ideas or traditions(commandments)and rules. Doing that amounts to sin.undecided

There is indeed gambling going on in their churches which many of them choose to turn a blind eye to. grin
An example is there seed sowing practice which supposes that if your seed is chosen or found good enough, the seed-sower will be blessed grin

I do not think it works this way. God must have given us brains so we can use them, and since Jesus added to, evolved even, the laws God supposedly gave in the Old Testament, we'd be ill-advised if we don't learn and do the same, or we'd still be eye for an eyeing.

Look, your beliefs are entirely different from mine. Obvious at this point that we don't even serve the same God. So, why not stick to using your brain in tackling your beliefs while I use mine to tackle mine. undecided

Why don't you consider the above when you are responding to those you respond to? Or don't they seem to believe differently to you?

We are using our brain to tackle what we read in a book called the Holy Bible. Unless you are tackling a different book or some God from somewhere else, so do expect to be challenged just as you challenge others.

I don't need to consider it in their case because their claim is that they belong to the same flock I belong, unlike you.

I am not tackling the bible... maybe you are but I am not. Note that difference please!

I do not tell you how you should address or not address those that you do, Kobojunkie. You are not my slave, I am not your God, I do not pay for your data and you must not obey buda. Besides, I like how you address those you address even when I disagree with you, since it shows you at least use your brain unlike most.

Just know that whatever and whenever we write on this public forum others have the right to respond however they too may like to. And even the Gods can't takeaway that right unless they make the mods ban us or we cease to exist.

Until then, you Sir will live long upon the land the Lord appoints to you. Amen.

Yes, really! Your data. Use it how you wish, and know others will use theirs how they wish, and that includes challenging each others beliefs, statements, opinions etc etc etc etc if posted on a public forum.

Instead of telling buda what buda should serve or stick, you really ought to consider not aggressively forcing your view on buda because it is obvious you are not buda's God nor can you control buda.

But still, your data, your time. Do with it as you please and know buda will do as pleases buda.

So, from anyone who declares gambling a Sin, please be sure to ask them for biblical reference of such claim since that which is Sin, is not defined in the minds of men, but instead by God Himself.
In proverbs, you will find two references made to gambling
Proverbs 16 vs 33(ERV)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
33. People might throw lots to make a decision, but the answer always comes from the Lord.
...a second...
Proverbs 18 vs 18(ERV)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
18. The best way to settle an argument between two powerful people may be to use lots.

Leviticus 19
For the Supplier of Gambling Services-

Thou shalt not Defraud thy Neighbour, NEITHER ROB him;

For the gambler- "He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that Poverty shall come upon him"

"He that giveth to the rich shall surely come to want"!
