This present failed adminstration lead by Jubril Alsundani is the greatest scam in the history of this country. They only know how to squander our collective wealth on useless medical tourism that does no one any good in this country. Assuming with all these spending the dullarrd has a little sense and understands what leadership and rulership is all about, i wouldn't have complained, but the more they spend on this old senile dullardd the more useless and clueless he becomes. |

Buhari is setting the pace as against his campaign promise in 2015 to end or reduce or discourage medical tourism in foreign countries. |

References:Unfortunately, funding is not the major problem with Nigeria's healthcare system. The current healthcare administration arrangement hijacked by only NMA members has sent out talents from the public healthcare system. The current public health system is so toxic to healthcare professionals who do not belong to NMA so most jet out to practice or run to private practice. So talents decline working in public hospitals. Now you have more of the experienced medical doctors in political and administrative role than in actual clinical practice. This started in 1985 when the late Prof. Olikoye Ransome-Kuti transferred the professional Hospital management roles to only members of his profession. Now you have more consultants as Minister,Junior minister, Director of MDA at federal,States and LGAs, administrative heads in all the 774 LGA, FMCs, GH and even Special Advisers to Governors, commissioners, Speakers, Senate President, LGA chairman! Even a Governor like HE Okowa who is a medical doctor will still appoint SSA medical and what have you. For a country claiming not to have enough doctors and NMA pretends the political appointment bazaar they cornered and are enjoying is not significantly robbing the nation of the investment the nation made in medical education training. NMA knows the truth that this political appointment bazaar their members got by an unpatriotic error by late Prof Olikoye Ransome-Kuti is a huge drain on both human and material resources but still pretending until this greed eventually consume their whole profession. So NMA is not being honest and patriotic in my opinion. Those I pity most are the young medical doctors who are left to themselves because the more experienced hands are now politicians in white lab coats occupying positions that are completely political than medical. The solution is that FG must go back to how our health sector was run before Prof. Olikoye Ransome-Kuti changed it and sacked professional Hospital managers who he now replaced with members of his NMA profession. National Assembly should pass a law to correct this malfeasance. It does not happen anywhere else in the world where your nation has few doctors yet most of the experienced ones are in political appointments and those in hospitals are bogged down with non-clinical tasks. They should bring back professional hospital management and any healthcare professional who want to go into hospital management can pursue a career in that aspect.visit www.freestuffsng.com for latest freestuffs in Nigeria. |
