THE Indigenous People of Biafra has denied allegation by the Chief of Naval Staff, Awwal Gambo, that the Eastern Security Network was responsible for the recent killings in the South-South East. The group described the naval chief as a weak officer for making a hasty conclusion on such sensitive issue. IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, stated this in a release in Awka, the Anambra State capital on Monday. Gambo had during a visit to the Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, in Onitsha, accused the ESN of the killings and terror attacks on Anambra and the South-East in general. But the Biafra secessionist group said it was unprofessional and a smack of poor intelligence for somebody in the class of Gambo to jump into such conclusion. The statement read in part, “We are however not surprised that the Nigeria Government will easily point accusing fingers at us. We know their antics. They are only looking for another justification to launch fresh military operation in the South-East and South-South to kill more innocent and unarmed Biafrans. “The naval chief is too weak to mobilise his troops and confront Boko Haram and Fulani bandits that are daily slaughtering both security operatives and civilians in the North and different parts of the country. Kidnapping for ransom and raping women in farms is now threatening to launch military operation against ESN and IPOB. “What offence has ESN committed other than flushing terrorists out of our lands? When has resisting terrorists in the forest translate to attacking security operatives? “We have several times stated that ESN is not after security agents but terrorists rampaging our communities. ESN operates in the bushes and not in the cities. Anyone looking for them should go to the forests. “Neither ESN nor IPOB is involved in the purported attacks against security agents. This is another fabricated lie by the Nigeria military to blackmail the security outfit and have another excuse to attack innocent people. “Why is the Nigeria military not bothered about the revelation about the existence of 300 Fulani camps with stockpiling of AK-47 across South-East? IPOB churns out nonsensical propaganda because the wannabe terror group is populated by very functional illiterates. Kanu issued an ultimatum to security agents to leave his phantom "Biafra", threatening fire and brimstone. IPOB celebrates the killing of states operatives and are always the first to publish videos; yet they are trying to deny IPOB's involvement. This is so silly. Kanu is just taking maximum advantage of the pervasive illiteracy in Igbo land. |
