11-13 is the normal age for going to secondary school internationally.

Only Nigerians developed the bad habit of sending children 9-10 to secondary.

Check this out, nursery school is 3 years, primary school is 6years making 9years. If a 9yr old goes to secondary, he should have started school the day he was given birth to. Meanwhile, the actual Nursery 1 age is 2-3 years old, add 9yrs, you have 11 yrs minimum.

In those days when the education system was good and children had to repeat a class if the failed, they are looking at 12-13yrs. These days parents will not accept it if a child is asked to repeat.
