Ogun State Government has inaugurated the Amotekun Corps under the umbrella name of Ogun State Security Network Agency.

The event which was held at the arcade ground, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta also featured the inauguration of patrol vehicles and motorcycles for the operation of the corps.

The corps is expected to assist the state in tackling insecurity, especially in Ogun West Senatorial districts, with records kidnapping and attacks of farmers by killer herdsmen.

The Corps will be under the watch of David Akinremi, a retired Commissioner of Police who was appointed by the state Governor to be the pioneer Commander of Amotekun in the state.

The igbo people should take lessons from how the yorubas are organizing their state security outfits.

They won't listen. They'd rather the north be able to discredit it as illegal because it has no legal backing, and tag it as a "terrorist organization". And bring in the Army to destroy them. It's as if they refuse to think ahead.

To make matters worse their governors aren't even in support of establishing or recognizing any local security outfit which makes me wonder if indeed the igbos are truly united
