Good afternoon friends. I am a POS agent. So these morning a guy came with his card to withdraw and the card declined ad it was defaced.


He proceeded to transfer it to my account, he was debited so he showed me the authentic debit alert as he did the transaction right under my eyes.

I gave him the money and he left, he also gave me his real phone number.

So the problem is that now has been almost 6 hours and I haven't gotten the alert.

I have been calling him for the past four hours to come back and he told me he is in his way embarassed

He hasn't come and I haven't seen the alert,


Please what can I do.


I know this isn't the best place to post this buy I need your advice please.
Mods please help me move to the right section .


I feel so bad at myself right now.

I thought the are market precautions associated with your business. There are some risk you don't take.

If he actually did the transfer, it will enter later.

Thank God it wasn't a stolen card and if he gave you his line, l believe it will enter.

Sometimes alert might be delayed due to network issues.
To see if you have been credited:

- Check your balance through your bank's USSD code
- Check your balance through your bank's mobile app
- Check your balance using your ATM card on any ATM machine.

Tell your boss first what happened. lf he asked for refund or salary deduction, just agree and don't show sign of anger. Tell him it was your mistake and it will not happen again.

The bad part is that he is my brother, I won't be able to stand him again for a long time

Don't accept transfer next time and if you must,make sure you acknowledge receipt of the funds in your account before you hand over cash to the customer.Na you Bleep up

Was it done via mobile app or ussd? If the said guy make use of mobile app just calm down in as much you saw the debit alert no cause for alarm, but if is the other way round (ussd) ...no fear shal na good Friday as earlier said by you, it will be Good to you.

this is complete mumuness on your part,u should have logged in to ur mobile app or confirm on ur acct before handling money to him,attimes my customers do transfer to me except i see alert or i check my acct and i see the transfer i won't let them go,just pray the money enters and if it didn't it serves as a lesson to you,but sorry the money is too,i remembered when i finish my olevel bk then a g boy came to where am working to buy generator,so the g guy told my boss then that he will transfer to him in the process he pointed to a TV about 50k so the two items are worth 120k and after,he transfer the 120k and told my then boss to let him go and drop the Gen so before he will come BK for the TV that the money would hv enter his acct,my the mumu boss allowed him,i was just watching the two of them,till today the guy disappeared with about the 60k gen,so before u delivered any goods to ur clients check ur mobile app to see ur balance...

First thing to always do is to confirm if the money have entered. If the customer is in a hurry, tell him or her that you haven't received the funds. Always put fault from his/her end, saying it could be his bank or they may reverse it for you. Cite an example of how similar situations occurred so time ago to you.

Anyways, still hold you might receive alert soon (if successful)
