And I'm struggling to cope with N50k per day i.e N1.5 million a month.

What do you guys eat on N30k per month, don't you have a gf, don't you go to bars, clubs etc?

Going by the inflation, recession and whatever thing they use to qualify this hardship we are facing in this country at the moment, how do you most salary earners cope?

When I say salary earners, I mean those earning 50k, 40k, 30k, 25k and some even 25k to 10k. Not you that's bagging 100k and above, you be oil worker jor.

So, I see most families where the man being the head of the family, is a private school teacher. Of course we all know how much they are payed nothing. Same with most company or factory casual workers. How do you guys manage to cope with family at this crucial time?

It's not like I'm earning big or own any business, but one good job in month will cover me for some times. Since I'm not married yet, it just myself and my aged mum that I think of.


So how do you manage your 30k that it will last you for a month, Assuming your extra teaching after school will cover your transportation to and from working place?

sincerely, the pay is peanut but it takes only the grace of God in sustaining us as sometimes I believe God touch the heart of few friends (2) who on their own accord sends 2-3k ones in a month or two...
life in Nigeria is pathetic but I'm optimistic that it will surely gets BETTER someday.
it's better to keep working with the little peanuts than becoming an armed robber

That's Viclawrence, they hired for mostly banks, I took exam with them n passed 2018 was screen and told how much I will be earning they even informed me that next time I hear from them it's the FB branch that I will be posted. Omo I happy go use my last card buy okrika for cantagora. Till now I never hear from them ooo. That was my ugly experience, but many have gotten employed from them. I wish u all the best

I don't know why it is like that everywhere. Using the teachers to make money and paying them peanuts, money that couldn't sustain them.

I have done calculation where a school earns over #3 million in a term and only pay teachers barely #1million for the whole term.

What happens to #2million then?

If you see how they are struggling to keep #2000 from you, you will marvel.

Vic Lawrence Associate....I know a few things about them having worked with a firm where most of my colleagues were outsourced from there.

You're most likely gonna hear from them soon if you are lucky and your age falls within 23 to 27 bcuz the major clients they recruit for are banks....I'll tell you more about this.

Btw... You said you're at Alaba Int. market....that's where I am too. Currently into computer laptops, and I can tell business hasn't been the same for some time now due to the prices of foreign used items going for double of their former price.

If you don't mind, let's meet in person on Tuesday so we can discuss extensively about what you inquired about and I'll also ask if you can be my guide on my adventure into the programming world. I've been learning how to code recently too and I found it fascinating. My shop is close to St. Patrick junction.

I hardly survive me alone, but a colleague of my mine does it even with his wife and child. I keep asking my self how does he do it. I know he get help from here and there but mhen, how does he?

I'm about quitting my #30k job. Because all my transport money is close to 30k. It's better I stay at home doing other small writing jobs than killing myself. Although I'm not married but 30k is really not a good pay at all

I am so sorry for your situation because you have to take care of yourself and then the child all by yourself - The dad of your child should step up - and if I may ask, How old is your child and how much will you wish your baby’s dad should be giving to you monthly that will help you care for your child ?

Others cope by scamming and cheating their fellow Nigerians.

Even 100K now looks like nothing. You can only feed the family and have nothing left, not to talk about those earning 50K and less.


Things are madly expensive and this people in government even finds it hard to pay minimum wage.


You go to the market, 20K is gone and you are yet to get anything.... How about those with kids with school fees to pay?


It's really crazy out there...
Those in government are so heartless. I will prefer the devil � to those who run our government.

Aleast the devil will fulfilled his end of our bargain, the only obstacle will be the condition he will lay down.

But you see this set of registered thieves and heartless monsters we have in government are worst than the devil. They will withhold what is rightfully yours, and still collect the one you've made by your self and still collect the ones you are yet to make in the future.

Reasons why most Nigerians are lawless, is partly connected to bad governance.

Still go on hunger strike, living within your means no be for this matter

Imagine paying for shelter (even a room), feeding your kids, transportation, paying school fees miscellaneous e.t.c from N21,000

It's terrible! Nigerians are roughed men! I give it to them!!!

Many of these private schools can afford to pay a better salary but instead they prefer to buy properties and keep building schools at the detriment of their staffs

If the government can help families by regulating some of these private schools also in terms of salaries, it will be a step forward!!!

It's not a pay, not to mention being good one.

I mean, as a single guy with no liability (yes Nigeria economy has made us understand that being in a relationship is a liability), I don't know how I will manage to spend just only 30k in a month, not to talk of a family man

I also survive on 30k monthly stipends with 2kids most times I trek to work no food to eat in short life is becoming depressing daily for me .......I just feel something is wrong somewhere with me cos he no easy at all...

I like food so i stock my house with foodstuff even if it means using one month salary. You tend to spend more on petty petty buying. The only thing I spend money on is pepper, fish and co... The next three to four months, I save 10-15k, buy at least one thing for myself, then the circle continues, buy stuffs again... God's grace, the 30k salary will end soon as i believe this is my last session as a teacher.

When you live in a civilised country where vote bring people to power, it's easy to assume Nigerians are the direct cause of their misfortunes.

Do you know the quality of candidates our political parties chun out for elections out of whom the electorates now choose from?

Ask those who served as ad-hoc INEC staffs at pooling units as corpers around the north and some other part of the country what election means to them. People really think our vote means anything. I'm telling you for a fact that if there's zero turnout at any general election, INEC will still apportion figures and declare a winner.

Every fabrics of true democracy has been fed to the dogs. Don't lemme start telling you how I ran for my life as a corper in Abuja at one of the open primary elections APC conducted in my time there.
