Some of them will keep stealing (not armed robbery).
They will sell office equipment, and ask for and accept bribes just to survive.
Most of them who don't do it don't have the opportunity.
You cannot pay a man with family peanuts, expect him not to steal in his office and turn around and say you are fighting corruption.
The joke is on you.
With high inflation rate, minimum wage should not be less than 100k.

But I really wonder who sent all these poor people to goan breed.

Even me earning 250k/month is very scared to get married let alone breed, until I'm able to set up a business and pay my employees comfortably for the 1st 6months. But some people would want to prove sey dem sabi do kerewa pass you undecided

Vote wisely?
The government doesn't care, no matter who is there. The last time the government cared a bit was in 2000 when Obj increased salaries. Even my neighbor who was a teacher bought a car that year. She also bought a used " color TV' for the first time. Imagine what Nigerians have been going through.

it depends on your location?

because 30k per mth in Abeokuta sub-urban will give u a better life than in Lagos sub.

that is why most state/Federal govt. workers earning small salary prefer small cities, that re very close to the rurals.

like staying in jaji instead of kaduna city, in Ifo instead of Abeokuta, in Epe instead of Lakwe etc

I'm about quitting my #30k job. Because all my transport money is close to 30k. It's better I stay at home doing other small writing jobs than killing myself. Although I'm not married but 30k is really not a good pay at all

Wisest decision you will make even though most of your colleagues would disagree. People get stuck to bad and dangerous jobs for fear of not finding another. Be strategic. Make bold steps. Be serious about your life. But don't ever settle for such low jobs because they take all your time and drain your energy. Now you can't think clearly and you don't have the time to pursue other things, plus your boss breaths down your neck constantly

Unless if the job affords you plenty of time to do other things, don't ever settle for these useless teaching jobs. And some of you could negotiate better terms but for fear of what I can't explain you take whatever is handed.

Well, you are right in a way. But a poor person who because of poverty refuses to have children is just postponing or let me say lengthening the evil day.
I have seen poor people who produced children and struggled to educate those children, even if it was just public schools, who are enjoying today by depending on those children.

My uncle has four children. He was a teacher like his wife in those days. It was hard. They used to come over every Xmas.
But the first son finished from medical school in 2005 and from the money he earned during out man ship bought his dad a BMW. Today they live in their own house.
If the man had decided not to have children because he was poor. I wonder where he would be now, especially since he worked in osun state where pensions were not paid as and when due. The Koko is to make sure those children get educated.

The truth is whichever level you find yourself you will survive one way or the other. When I was earning N30,000 not too long ago I was surviving. I was a single parent with one daughter but we were managing somehow. I had neighbors who had wives and up to three kids earning the same salary and they were coping too. With that salary your desires are instinctively put in check. I didn't have a television, DVD player, home theater and so many furniture and I didn't bother. It didn't even cross my mind that I needed them because the money no even dey to buy them even if I wanted. I didn't have deep freezer or fridge or even gas burners. I just made do with basic cooking utensils and kept my mattress on the floor.

It was when my salary began to increase that I began to buy other items. Just take life jeje and everything will fall in place.

If you are earning less than 100k, please get a side hustle, we are now in a digital World, you can start someother things without affecting your current job ,dropshipping is an example, just create an online store, you are good to start without any kobo.
May God help us in this country that seems there is no hope.

Hello, please can elaborate on the dropshipping

That's why i always say this "crime will continue to increase in Nigeria because you can't expect people you pay a slavery wages to live normal life like human being"
I beg to disagree on that

Your level of income (big or small) isn't a yardstick to crime

Let me use myself as a case study;

I'm a fresh graduate who came out top of his class. but here i am, still job hunting

I'm from the least social strata in the society (poor background)

I wasn't opportuned to have access to smart phones (android specifically) throughout my days in college, luckily a friend gave me her used Huawei phone when i was about saying goodbye to college

Moreso, i couldn't enroll for NYSC due to my inability to get my certificate and other necessities (mandatory)

Nonetheless, is that an excuse for me to get involved in cyber crime? Is that an excuse to go into any shady act? Absolutely no

Mind you, i have some of these guys who are into varieties of social vices/cyber crime back then in college as course mate, i have them at the tips of my finger

My OBSERVATION about Nigeria youths is that they are GREEDY, their thirst for wealth is pretty much higher which makes them succumb easily to societal affluence/pressure. They want to have access to all the goodies of life, the latest car, phone, outfit and what have you

These set of people go on social media to shame us and prove to us how education had been a complete scam, expecially in Nigeria

In summative, i can't get myself involved in crime firstly due to the nature of family i came from, i wasn't brought up to get oppressed by anyone

I can't be involved because I'm educated and i strongly believe tomorrow is pregnant, which definitely will give birth to success for me

NB: Government should endeavor to give education a priority, this is very vital. Expecially the northerners, they need quality education

Our syllabus/curriculum is outdated, they should try as a matter of urgency to update it

This will help reduce crime in Nigeria.

nothing is wrong with you. Nigeria has weaponised poverty to the extent that people think na metaphysical dey worry them. That's why religious jingles here and there sell.

The earlier people generally and low-income earners support the dismantling of this contraption called Nigeria, the better. The reset button must be pushed.

That's why I still shake my head at people saying e go better with no date from grandfather till new born pikin.

Pending to breakup, my advice for you is to upgrade your skills, learn a business that people can't do without, and grow your side hustle.

The truth is, a man has to raise a family, with or without money.
A man who earns more wants to send his kids to the best schools, while a struggling family man sends them to schools he can afford.
We normally say, "Big man, big trouble."
No matter how you look at, raising a family isn't easy for anyone, both rich and poor.
So, the best bet is for a man to start raising a family, working hard and hoping for a better tomorrow.

Things will never get better for him. He is poorly educated based on his inability to write. And he is making 32k per month because of the many poor decisions he has made in his life, based on statistics, he will continue to make poor decisions for the rest of his life, which means that his poor decision making thought process will continue to keep him down.

And you are dumb for trying to uplift him.

I am currently teaching in a private school just to get busy prior to NYSC. The teacher's average salary in N25,000 but I was able to compel the school's admin to increase mine to N30,000. Everyday I wonder how teachers cope. Over 60% of the teachers are over 35 years and married. With the way the male teachers put on ironed long sleeve and tie, you will think they are rich. There is one old teacher who only eats crackers biscuit as lunch because that's what he can afford, while some don't even eat lunch. Some teachers have been working in the school for over 6 years and their salary still remains the same. God punish poverty!
Most of this private school owners keep the married ones in check with discounts on their children school fees and occasional small gifts. Private school owners they're like gnld people!
