I earned 300k a month and I consider it very small for me, my wife and two kids. Rent, DSTV, gas, sanitation, security, feeding, water, electricity, internet and other miscellaneous is 150k to 170k a month. The country is deem expensive
try to get a land and build on it, you can't continue living in rented apartment. There are lots of land you will get with less than 1m and start building gradually

You could save from your salary for a few months or seek assistance from relatives to raise the amount.

nothing to save outta the money as foodstuff keeps increasing everyday.
by the time I restock my foodstuff and clear some debts, nothing will remain... not even a coin

Hmmmn....I smiled bitterly reading different pathetic comments! It's just so unfortunate finding oneself in this kind of situation(30 to 50k monthly). It's just more or less like roaming and swimming in poverty for as long as one is earning such peanut, especially in this current situation of the country.
I have been working with a particular govt parastal for 6yrs as a contract staff, on a consolidated salary of 35k...am married with a kid o, though my wife got a police job afterward, earning 50k, in a different state, while am here doing mine in Lagos. Even at that, it wasn't that easy coping with life, considering the basic needs expected to meet...before u know it, u begin to see yourself as being stingy to friends and families...that is if you must meet up with your full responsibility as a man...no hanging out to enjoy yourself, let alone having a side chick...for where?? Its just so frustrating! Seriously....buh earlier this year, our salary was increased massively to 135k. So, my dear folks, PATIENCE, PRAYER AND CONTENTMENT is very key!!! It's not easy but let's learn to adapt to whatever situation we find ourselves in...I pray those still struggling with life shall smiles at the end....I feel for us o....cos I experienced it and know how it feels...
Yes patience and perseverance is key

You're indeed lucky, the fruits of your labor didn't go in vain

You can help a brother if there's vacant

That's the major reason I'm not considering marriage yet. I earn 38k, it's barely enough.

sincerely, the pay is peanut but it takes only the grace of God in sustaining us as sometimes I believe God touch the heart of few friends (2) who on their own accord sends 2-3k ones in a month or two...
life in Nigeria is pathetic but I'm optimistic that it will surely gets BETTER someday.
it's better to keep working with the little peanuts than becoming an armed robber

I have done calculation where a school earns over #3 million in a term and only pay teachers barely #1million for the whole term.

What happens to #2million then?

If you see how they are struggling to keep #2000 from you, you will marvel.

40% should be for workers expenses, 10% for rent, 15% for utilities, property maintenance, generator, fuel, depreciation, 5% for dues, levies, duties, taxes etc, 20% should be for loan repayment or building of permanent site, 5% for marketing, publicity, PR, branding, 5% for the owner.

Always believe there’s a light at the end of the tunnel bro and find a way to be extra-productive especially you can explore the IT world which you can easily combine with your teaching job and also biz if you’re good at marketing or you can work as a sales person virtually for fashion items for some commission on each items sold and you live in the southwest then you can DM me and also try scouring your environment for well-paying schools if you’re really passionate bout teaching and imparting knowledge on the young generation.May the force be with you.

Some of them will keep stealing (not armed robbery).
They will sell office equipment, and ask for and accept bribes just to survive.
Most of them who don't do it don't have the opportunity.
You cannot pay a man with family peanuts, expect him not to steal in his office and turn around and say you are fighting corruption.
The joke is on you.
With high inflation rate, minimum wage should not be less than 100k.

What will the private schools teachers steal? Avoid generalisations. Many Nigerians are surviving based on the communal lifestyle and fear/love of God shown towards them. By God's grace, I have received help from Christian brethren when I ask this year as well as from family and that's how I have also done my little to help those around me especially those I see that I can help and those who ask when I have.
NIGERIANS ARE GOOD PEOPLE, I PRAY FOR THE DAY THIS NATION/S WILL HAVE GOD-FEARING LEADERS TO HELP HARNESS OUR POTENTIALS.

Will you put me through how to start with #0?
I know the basis of dropshipping but starting with something less than 5k seems hard to understand for me

There is nothing hard there, get a good supplier, start posting pictures of selling products on your Facebook,WhatsApp and Instagram status or pages, when you get a customer the wholesaler or supplier send on your behalf.
Let's assume that the product is 5k, when advertise it to customer at 8500,after payment, send the 5k to the supplier while you take your profit of 3500.
Imagine having 5k or more than everyday

pls can u throw more light on this droppshiping

You can start your drop shipping by getting a suppliers, get the pictures of their products , could be anything, creates online stores, your social media accounts are your online stores, start posting the pictures on your pages and status , when you have a customer the supplier send in your behalf to the buyer.

Let's assume a supplier or an importer sell a pair of shoes for 10k and you advertise it for 18k , after the seller made his it payment , you send the 10k to the wholesaler while you pocket your profit which is 8k.

Dont be deceived. How can u be suffering and still make paying of tithe automatic when even ur salary isnt automatic.
Dont get me wrong,as I am only trying to advice u on what is good for u. U need to help yourself first before helping another person/organisation. Financial education is key.

My lady too is a police officer, I had to read carefully to be sure you weren't telling my whole life stories, I must confess it's not easy for a man to have a woman who's earning more than himself in terms of salary, to think that these police officers brings money home daily from work ranging from 6k to 10k daily as a result of brides and all, before they will still get paid at d end of the month Lol. But wait bro, I was just wondering, which government job increases salary exponentially from 35k to 135k? Your response will be appreciated.
