ChimaAdeoye:
I have been following videos of these young youtubers showing all the internal inter-town roads in Anambra. What you will notice is that Anambra indeed has the best roads network in Nigeria and is indeed gradually transforming into a megalopolis where they entire state is one city. Paved roads with streetlights have become the norm rather than the very rare exception observed in almost every town in Anambra state! Today, it is the federal government roads that have remained in a deplorably poor condition all these years, while almost all the state owned roads are in good condition ! That is an amazing feat achieved in Anambra over a relatively short period of time!

Anambra has also cultivated the commendable habit of building roads with drainage gutters on both sides of the road which helps in elongating the lifespan of the roads as well as flood control.

Again, thanks to Obiano, almost every major road in Anambra state now has a functional street lights which was unheard of in Anambra roads just a few years ago.

I think the next revolution on improving the quality of Anambra roads is how to tackle traffic on major intersections. I think building roundabouts in major roads junctions/intersections are a good way of ensuring smooth flow of traffic than installing solar traffic lights that breakdown after a few week. Also, people don't obey traffic lights when the Police isn't there.

Moreover, roundabouts are beautification and monuments to great historical events of every town as well as a critical road infrastructure. Thus roundabouts in addition to facilitation of smooth flow of traffic can be used to beautify an area and tell its history or portray its proud cultural identity.

Anambra State Govt Intensifies Measures To Join League Of Oil Producing States
By absradiotv.com

Anambra State Government is working assiduously to ensure that it joins the league of oil producing states in Nigeria through its engagements with some petroleum companies operating in the state.

The Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, who interacted with ABS Abuja Bureau Chief, Ekwi Ajide at the FCT recently, disclosed that though it is not common knowledge, there are two oil companies operating in the state and government is not resting on its oars to utilize the opportunity.

According to Professor Chukwulobelu, the two companies have been exploring oil at Anambra-Orient oil, domiciled at Anambra East and West and Sypro in Ogwuikpele and Ogwuaniocha Communities, Ogbaru Local Government Area.

Sypro Petroleum, according to the SSG commenced mining and excavation in the state in 2013 without the knowledge of the state government, which only discovered their activities in 2017 through a disagreement between them and the communities.

He said the Anambra State Oil and Gas Development Committee had since then been following the activities of the company and noticed that it has done a lot without the knowledge of the government, hence, the petition to the Senate Committee On Oil and Gas, who on arrival, were upset at what they unraveled.

Professor Chukwulobelu, said that there are indications that these efforts are not in vain as the governor also wrote to the presidency, who set up a presidential committee to look into the matter and they too, were shocked by what they saw.

He said that having seen that Anambra State was determined on making them observe due process, the company come back to the discussion table were Anambra State among other things demanded proper Environmental Impact Assessment before operations, signing of a proper Memorandum of Understanding with the communities and presentation of their operating license to enable the state to apply for inclusion into oil producing states with the benefits thereof.

On the reasons for the visit, Professor Chukwulobelu, said he came for the renovation and refurbishing of Anambra House, which the previous government graciously donated to the United Nation when their house got razed by fire eight years ago.

While noting that the job would be officially handed over after the Easter, Professor Chukwulobelu unveiled that a major Chinese company will be coming into Anambra State for majorl production of dairy

ADDRESS BY THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF ANAMBRA STATE, CHIEF WILLIE OBIANO ON 4TH APRIL 2021.

My dear Ndi Anambra and all residents in our dear State, I wish to address you all this Sunday afternoon and felicitate with you and your families as you celebrate the holy Easter.

I pray that the spirit of the season will permeate our hearts and engender love, peace and tranquility in our daily lives, now and in the future.

I have chosen this moment to address the State since the unfortunate incident at Isuofia on the 31st of March 2021, wherein a town hall meeting involving Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo and youths of the town was disrupted by armed men, killing three policemen in the process.

The gunmen also abducted the State Commissioner for Public Utilities, Hon Emeka Ezenwanne.

Since the incident and in our usual characteristics, the State security architecture had exerted an extensive effort to ensure the safety of the Commissioner who eventually returned home in the early hours of today, 4th April 2021.

As you must already know, one of the attackers was gunned down on the spot on that day while five(5) others were arrested afterwards by the security agencies. Our efforts to the glory of God, have proved not to be in vain!

I am therefore happy to announce that the Hon. Commissioner is unhurt, very stable and in good physical and mental condition. No ransom was demanded and none paid for his release.

I have also met with him and im reassured that he is ready to resume duties.

Let me now use this opportunity to thank all the security agencies and other critical stakeholders who played one role or the other in our collective effort to free Hon Emeka. The State Government immensely appreciates you all.

To the family of the Hon Commissioner, nuclear and extended, the Soludo family and all friends who faced the trauma of not knowing his fate these past few days, I ask that we be grateful to God for the Easter gift of his safe return.

To the families of the slain Police officers, my heart once again, goes out to you. I share in your grief and mourn with you. While I pray for the repose of the souls of the deceased, please be assured that the State Government will not abandon you.

I must now condemn in its entirety, the violence that is erupting in our dear State and the continued targetting and killing of security forces working here.

This tendency portends grave danger for the peace and security we have worked so hard to entrench in our dear State. The aftermath of the Endsars protests is still fresh in our minds with the obvious rise in crime rates following a lull in security activities. A repeat of this, we must not allow!

For this singular reason and in the interest of our collective safety, I hereby urge all stakeholders at all levels of society to call for a stoppage of all forms of aggression against the Police and security agencies in Anambra State.

As a Government, we remain committed to the safety and security of all living and doing business in the State and we will do our utmost best to ensure the safety of all.

I urge the Police, Military and other security agencies in the State to continue to do their duties exceptionally, professionally and in line with the law.

Also, as politics and its activities manifest in our State in the months ahead, let me urge all actors and participants to eschew violence and be mature in all dealings. Our State is on a consistent rise to greatness and we all have a duty to ensure it doesn't derail as a result of political bitterness.

I have been fully briefed by the Security agencies and I wish to reassure the public that the Police and relevant agencies are continuing investigations into the Isuofia incident and will not relent until the perpetrators are brought to book.

God bless Anambra, the Light of the Nation,
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Happy Easter holidays to all our people home and abroad.

These busses are good for planned cities with wide dual lane roads and proper bus stops not the narrow one lane roads of Anambra cities. The government has to get serious about urban planning. It's bizarre that there are not many major wide avenues in Awka or Onitsha. Most American cities have a ratio of 1 Avenue to 15 streets.

Manhattan has 11 Avenues each 100 feet wide. There is only 2 major Avenue in the entire Awka. Zik "Avenue" is less than 25 feet wide with no parking lane or road reserve and inundated with markets. The road leading to Ekwueme square and the secretariat is a dead end of less than 400m in length

Onitsha has Port Harcourt Rd, Iweka, Awka Rd, Modebe all of which have been encroached on by markets and traders.

The only planned city in the entire south east is Enugu which has a large number of major arteries providing access to all parts of the city with sidewalks and buildings setback from the road. Urban planning is critical in Anambra.

Take your envy and frustration to Enugu thread, no one needs your useless worthless input here.

You are here hiding in thos thread while terrorists are bombing the whole of Owerri. This is hypocritical attitude of you people from other states. If what's happening in Owerri is happening in Anambra, it is still people like you that would be only escalating the discussion. Go to Imo thread and proffer solutions on how to save Owerri and Imo state at large from terrorists because it appears your governor is overwhelmed.

Village man, that is not a super highway. That expressway is THREE lanes. The other two lanes on each side is called a SERVICE lane. Built by CCC under Obi.

You should show this picture to your mediocre governor Obiano who could not replicate this standard in Awka because of the incompetence of IDC. The federal highway from Amawbia to Juhel junction was WIDE enough to support a similar arrangement from Kwata Junction to Arroma. Too late.
Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by GitmoAuditors:
You are not only a village man but you are also a village demonic night owl.

I will never be drawn into your divide and rule by using Obi against Obiano or vice versa. Your demonic game plan has failed.

I am interested in Anambra and its continuous development and advancement from Ngige to Obi and now Obiano.

Obi did well and Obiano has up the game by not only replicating what Obi did with Onitsha superhighway in Awka, but he has gone ahead to build other signature infrastructures like the international airport, ICC, Stadium,
etc. The next governor will take us a notch higher. That way Anambra will continue to lead and win to your envy and frustration. cheesy

Anambra leads

The idea of leaving heap of sands on the sides of gutter is prevalent in all road construction in Nigeria. I DO NOT KNOW WHY !!! These sands END UP IN THE GUTTER and mess up the road and you know we do not care for roads by removing sands which takes half of our roads.
As suggested above by good observer PROUDIGBO, these sands should be removed entirely.
Meanwhile God bless all rich Ndigbo who are given back to their communities in terms of development instead of oppressively taking from them. May their bank account never dry.

Bla Bla Bla..

Always spewing nonsense evil minded creature. Take this fact into your head. The best planned city in the entire eastern region is Onitsha. The Google earth is there to cure your stark ignorance. Anambra has the widest and best road networks in the region, if you doubt me, show me any road like this in your state. Take your envy and frustration to Enugu thread, no one needs your useless worthless input here.

You are not only a village man but you are also a village demonic night owl.

I will never be drawn into your divide and rule by using Obi against Obiano or vice versa. Your demonic game plan has failed.

I am interested in Anambra and its continuous development and advancement from Ngige to Obi and now Obiano.

Obi did well and Obiano has up the game by not only replicating what Obi did in Onitsha superhighway in Awka, but he has gone ahead to build other signature infrastructures like the international airport, ICC, Stadium,
etc. The next governor will take us a notch higher. That way Anambra will continue to lead and win to your envy and frustration. cheesy

Anambra leads
