There should even be more slots for visa appointments for category B applicants, since they're not issuing shengen visas for now for tourism, seminars, trade fair, short time business visits etc. But,na the same story.

Good evening everyone. I'm so new and already frustrated with US applications and decided to go to Germany instead.

I already checked DAAD and found a school and course of study.

Please can someone with a good heart put all the pieces together for me cry?

I have been too familiar with the US process that gathering new information for another country will be difficult for me. But someone that already knows the process can put you through a step by step processes which will be so easy to understand.

1. Identify a school from DAAD.
2. Open a Uniasist account (Closed for maintenance till 15th April). I couldn't open an account.
3. Apply to a school. Submit all the necessary documents.

From here what is next.

I saw Health Insurance (Basic package for people below 30 and Plus package for people above 30). I'm above 30 and going for Undergrad. I want to study a different thing.

I already downloaded the Finitiba app from Playstore.

Can someone with a good heart put all the pieces together for me please.

If you pass through this stage, this is the next one, till I appear before them in the Embassy. I saw Category A and Category B visas, I don't know what they mean

Please someone should help me out. I have not even opened a Uniasist account, i will wait until 15th. I saw they said application closes on 15th of July. That's 3 months from now. Its still a long time away. I can still make it.

A very Important Question

I'm Sponsoring myself. So, If i can only show evidence of blocked money for one year, without showing how i will be able to pay for the remaining two years, considering no one will send me another money when that one finishes, will i be given a visa?

try and understand what category A and B mean first.
If you fall in category B , then check the next country, dont bother trying Germany to avoid further frustration .
If you are category A. You get help from there

Cat A - Scholars and First Class graduates perhaps 2:1 graduates after 2017.
Cat B - all other categories except in Cat B.

Cat A are the 'anointed' ones while Cat B are regulars

In US section, people have hope of getting at least visa interview once u have admission. So my brother, here is different, people here are not happy, some are even depressed with the whole situation with visa.

So if u are still looking for admission, go back to the uni website and read it carefully, send mails to the uni staff, they are always willing to answer ur questions no matter how stupid the questions are. From my experience anyway, German uni staff are very good pple and they will attend to u very well.

If u want to know about visa process, read the embassy website properly too, ull have most answers there. You can also call them up, they answer too, so if u have further questions u can ask them directly.

Anything else from there is in the hand of God's mercy.

I’m sorry, but what you are asking is a bit cumbersome. If I am not mistaken, take you through all the process step by step?

If you go through the thread carefully, I am sure most of your questions would have been answered.

Right now, most people are not motivated because of the interview issue. I hope you understand.

As a prospective student, you should be able to read, comprehend information on the websites.
Only ask technical questions and not general questions.
You know Daad.de, you know uni-assist, you've learned about health insurance and blocked account. Just read the various sites, the embassy site and COMPREHEND. Or start reading from Pp 1-10, then randomly click different pages. If you have further technical questions, please ask, no one has time to school you through the stages like you're filling your first JAMB/UTME forms.

Inform us the semester you applied for. In February, most summer semester admissions has ended and summer semester began 1st April while in February, Winter Semester applications has not started yet for most schools. However, if you applied for Winter Semester 2021, you will have to wait till August-October for admission status.

Modified: oh Winter Semester? Wait till August-October.

Your response actually negates the purpose of the thread, anytime I see useless responses like this. I just know it's someone who with their egoistic mindset because of one information they have.

Her questions are quite valid as someone who is coming from a US applications thread and as you can see, she has made some research and hence presented her question albeit with a bit of confusion.

If you cannot answer a question, please just keep it moving and stop playing GOD!

Ordinarily I wouldn't want to respond to this. S/he was coming from the US Thread but has not demonstrated that. When you join a thread, it ought to be NATURAL to begin from page 1 of Part 1!
There are some persons here, who joined lately but had to go read from page 1 where the discussion started and randomly read through some other pages and became INFORMED. Those persons were able to ask SPECIFIC questions and probably got answers.
US Education process is even more cumbersome in my opinion with the Forms.

I know many persons don't like to speak the truth because it somehow hurts our feelings but we have to grow together and our posts and comments should reflect our statuses as prospective students, students and otherwise. My earlier comment has advised to read from pages 1-10, study the already known sites and randomly read other pages, how has your quote/comment helped him/her apart from unwarranted attack?

By the way, I leave God work for God, I don't play God but only chastised that we should demonstrate our purposeful mindset here.
I hope you can take it upon yourself to answer the questions s/he had asked next time instead of taking an attack or defense position like Sergio Ramos.

You only need to show proof of funding for one year at the interview stage, when you arrive here, you will have to sort yourself out which should not be a lot of problem. And when applying, don't emphasis on the money available as personally yours because the interviewer may begin to probe on your SOURCE OF FUND particularly emphasising on your work experience as contained in your submitted CV and means of living after 1 year.
Better to use more generic sources like Family Support and Personal Savings TOGETHER.

See the way you're trying to explain yourself to me, to just defend your reason for the harsh response. If your school is listed in uni-assist, that implies that your application MUST go through uni-assist and your supporting documents which includes your transcript MUST be sent to the uni-assist address provided.
That's the reason you are paying the HANDLING FEE of 70 EUR to uni-assist.
Uni-assist collect and file your application on your behalf to the University for consideration provided you meet with the Minimum Requirements for Admission.

Not familiar with WES.

I encourage everyone to first attempt to do individual information finding and seek further information as a potential student who wants to study abroad. The information are not hidden in dark Web!

Congrats bro.

Nonsoanthony:

TESTIMONY
Although it's coming late but I know it will be a good source of information for those that are already in Ukraine and want to move to Germany on a Student visa.

My Journey to Deutschland is a case of Determination and Gratitude to God.

I started my Deutschland journey January 2019, I got 5 admission from different schools by May 2019...exactly the month the German Embassy in lagos started this Category A and B of a thing...with thier conditions I fall into Category B. I booked an appointment with category B in May 2019..I prayed and fasted for a month for an appointment and that's to no avail...middle of June I booked category A with a leap of Faith and got an appointment immediately for 6 days later being 24th of June 2019.

I went for my appointment that day after check with Mr Paulinus I was allowed in...when it's my turn to be interviewed..the visa officer was so nice to me but had to turn me back as she said I can't be interviewed cos I didn't belong to category A...I was devastated but it didn't kill my spirit...I had to come back home and rebooked category B with my fasting and prayers. The winter semester 2019 passed no AD, I got an admission for summer 2020 booked and appointment again for Category B the summer semester passed no AD.

By May 2020 I told myself the truth that if I must achieved my dream of studying in Germany I must do it the hard way...I checked up for Ukraine as it will be a good route for me...I applied for Ukraine study visa and got my visa by August 2020. I moved to Ukraine in October after thier lockdown lifting on september 28.

Getting to Ukraine I registered with a school, Got an accommodation and also got my residence permit by end of November 2020. I also got my admission for Germany summer semester 2021 but I was confused whether I will stay in Ukraine for six months before applying from there...I called thier visa center..( Visametric).that was in December of 2020. I told them that I came into Ukraine in October that was 2 months back as of then...if it's possible to apply immediately or stay for 6months...They gave me a wonderful news I wanted to hear that I can apply immediately....they gave me date of on the phone immediately for December 11 which I later cancelled cos my block account wasn't ready..and rebooked for end of January 2021.

On the day of my appointment I went to the visa center ( visametric) at kryshatric street in Kiev.. as they told me on the phone..that there won't be any interview for the visa....It was only me that came for the submission that day..They just checked my documents and confirmed it was ok..I paid my vfs fee, visa fee and thumprinted.

Exactly a month after I received a call from the visametric that my documents has been returned from German Embassy and will be delivered the next day...my BP was on the high side as I wasn't aware of the content but I was very hopeful...when the parcel was returned the visa was stamped to the Glory of God. I was given a 6 months visa as against thier normal 3 months because of corona.

I arrived Germany two weeks ago... Germany is beautiful... Germany is powerful...I have been to Ukraine but seriously u can't compare the two..I just moved into my apartment in Nuremberg city and in the process of my residence permit at the moment.

THE GERMAN DREAM WORTH IT..... PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP..

Thank you so much for everything. You did a great job. Especially the Category part.

My most pressing issue was evidence of fund for subsequent years, unlike the US that will ask for bank Statements, you will only need to show them evidence of the Blocked account. They won't know the source of the funds.

I will shoot the application as early as they open on 15th.

May God help us all
