These are multi millionaires in dollars but multi billionaires in weak Naira. Although otedola, Elumelu and offor should be very near to a billion dollar.

How about Madam Abacha who said she can never be as poor as dangote.

How about all those old Naija leaders of 1990s that move mammoth sized funds overseas and to other planets.

How about d report that $600 billi has been looted from naija since 1970s.

If some x-politicians reveal their net worth these good guys will be pushed to d back sit.

As crude oil money from the Niger Delta dwindles, so shall the number of Nigeria’s billionaires who were made billionaires from oil money dwindle.

Lol. I did not read your comment before mine which stated the obvious that Nigeria’s billionaires were made by oil wells.

Tech is the future. USA and China carry most of the billionaires.

If Nigeria were to be one of these countries, I believe we will have many billionaires in dollars.

Nigeria is full of minds with potentials.
The truth is Nigeria doesn't really have any billionaire in Dollars in the real sense of it. We only have few persons who were made extremely rich in Dollars via political might and not according to product & services offered. Hence none of them can write a book on how they made their money in billions of dollars. You & any other Nigerian can become a billionaire if provided the same political might and opportunity. I.e. Monopoly, over inflated contract, politicians hiding billions with your company, import waiver, zero price regulations, nearly/zero tax, etc. USA & China invent tech, invest and make clean cash while creating wealth through which for others.

The case of Nigerian oil tycoons is that even though the whole world knows that the oil prices are fluctuating and dwindling, they don't know how to diversify their fortunes into other investments to retain their billionaire status. They are only benefiting from the nepotistic and favoritismic nature of Nigerian society to climb their ladders of success. Tech is the future, I see technology helping to defeat corruption in Africa. But I fear these corrupt African leaders might want to control the technology too if the fortunes are getting bigger, but people will resist them

Crude oil will still be relevant in a long time.

Remember that the fractional distillation of crude oil has several substituents.

Crude oil goes beyond driving car engines.

@IMASTEX, there's a growing generation of young Nigerians making a fortune from FinTech. FinTech firms like Intersitch, Remita, PayStack and Flutterwave are doing well. With Nigeria's massive population and overseas remittances, those companies will hit the unicorn status in no time. Our biggest challenge is a government that doesn't support the private sector.

Interesting! When a person suddenly realizes being on a billionaire's list is not as important as being healthy internally, loving one's self and family, immediate community; realizing billions of dollars cannot and will never say 'thank you for earning us'; that the things that truly, really matter are not by anything materially quantifiable ALONE but by a whole lot of unseen intangibles...why will she or anyone, for that matter, not drop... All who want to be billionaire, setting one's house in order internally is the right step in the best direction
