They are beasts so they don't have the intellect to sit on a round table and resolve issues amicably like intelligent creatures. If man knows how to settle issues involving two of his own children so that they don't fight to see each other die then nothing stops them from resolving issues that they are certain will lead to death of many, leaving many women as widows and children as orphans.
If someone should walk up to you to tell you that you're going to die and your wife will become a widow and your children orphans won't you think of the smartest way out of such dreadful prediction?
