Refresh Rate: How fast is your phone? by hoilakes(m): 12:45pm On Apr 10, 2021
Have you ever wondered how your smartphone screen quickly refreshes its contents whenever you launch an application or open a new page?

This refresh rate is the inbuilt feature that makes content on your smartphone’s screen feel smoother. particularly in things with lots of motion like games, or when rapidly scrolling menus.

Refresh rate basically defines how many times the display of your phone refreshes or updates every second, with the refresh rate being counted in Hertz (Hz).

With this breakdown A 60Hz display refreshes 60 times per second, 90Hz is 90 times per second, and 120Hz is 120 times per second. So a 120Hz display refreshes twice as fast as a 60Hz panel, and 4x faster than an old 30Hz TV.

What 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz means for a smartphone phone
The benefits of high refresh rate phones and even how they work are rarely well understood. While games and content can look a lot smoother, whether it’s worth the extra battery consumption depends a lot on the user and the handset.

So well noted that higher refresh rate displays make motion content feel smoother and snappier. that swiping through your emails and interacting with social platforms User Interface looks smoother with a good HERTZ.

Although that’s not a game-changer for day-to-day smartphone use and there are more meaningful benefits to be found in fast motion content, such as video and gaming. Faster displays make the most noticeable difference when it comes to gaming.

Higher frame rates and faster display response times can have a noticeable impact because visual latency is lower and gameplay appears smoother. PC gamers regularly swear by 120Hz and even 144Hz displays.

Now mobile gamers can benefit too, albeit on a much smaller screen. However, high frame rate gaming requires a beefy, energy-hungry processor too. This ensures that the graphics frame rate keeps up with the high display refresh rate.

Though A display with a higher refresh rate will consume more battery as well, many smartphones now considered that when producing a smartphone with high REFRESH Rate, the recent phones with good specs we see some smartphone brands producing now comes with a good battery to cover up the effect.

On the whole, though higher is better for refresh rates, which is why we're seeing so many phones pushing way above 60Hz and going for more and huge HERTZ for their smartphones.

As we are all looking forward to new smartphones this year with smartphone brands already considering the high refresh rate with good batteries, they should not forget to make the price moderate as well.

When we all know the higher the components that makes up a product the higher the price...

But still some device managed and still managing to get all that and more with good and affordable prices...

This knowledge is totally not wasted!

I know what to look out for when getting my next phone.

I should say one of the brands that has been able to strike this balance is TECNO.

Their battery capacity is really impressive, not to mention the fast charge feature too.

What stands out for TECNO brand is great features and affordability!

As long as Skywalker2.40 is online, it CAN NEVER and WILL NEVER be business as usual for con artists.

Change your ways Son, get a better job and stop deceiving innocent people to part ways with their hard earned money.

Or make suggestions for your greedy employers to improve to meet standard acceptable to the geeks and layman alike.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Thats the reason this thread was created, the op must be a marketer no doubt.
You saw the long threads on Helio G70 and Helio G90T
The day they use any feature like IP68/IP69, IR Blaster, OLED or Super AMOLED, SD730G etc be expecting a long rambling because in their puffed heads, they beleive they are the first brand to use those features in the world stage.

A lot of fools just hide under social media and think they know everything. So you mean, I am employee of nairaland.com? Such a dunce you are.

If you so much love people like you do claim, go to the streets and convince them, because the crowd on nairaland.com is nothing compared to crowds on the streets.

Honestly there is a difference.

I recently sold my R6 with 90hz display now using g8x 60hz display.

The difference is obvious in just 60-90=30.

However, mobile phones are excellently usable with 60hz but more smooth if you step up.

The choice is for a user to make.

It is so simple.
