We live in a high-speed age that is filled with tensions and pressures that make people edgy. Small things can be so annoying that they cause tense persons to explode with anger, saying things they later regret or doing things for which they later have remorse. A thoughtless remark, an unintentional bump or an irritating discourtesy is a small thing, but over such small things a person can become violently angry if he fails to exercise self-control.

I used to do especially when I'm passing through tough times or under pressure but I'm learning to control and manage my emotions especially anger, with the help of the holy spirit.

The country alone is enough to make one feel edgy and go crazy all the time but we thank God for His Grace.

Anger is simply a human emotion that can be brought under control depending on the mental state of the one experiencing it. undecided

God does not list anger as a sin..and there is nothing Satanic about the emotion since even God speaks of being angry.. undecided

Anger can easily lead to sin: Ephesians 4:26 “In your anger do not sin” Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.

Also Matthew 5:22 But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.

Anything you can think of can lead to sin but not everything is sin and we are warned against describing that which God has not declared as sin, as so. undecided

Do not add or remove from the laws of God. undecided

Consider that in the context of the passage Matthew 5 vs 21 -26 and see if Jesus Christ declared anger a sin or not. undecided

Jesus clearly stated that Matthew 5:22 But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment!

He said there will be judgment, when? Read the verse in its original context to know what the message really is about. undecided

Proverbs 29:22 An angry person starts fights;

So it is better to avoid anger as anger can easily lead to sin.

A fight is not a sin. undecided

Back to Matthew 5 vs 21-26, why not figure out instead what Jesus Christ did indeed decree a sin in that context? lipsrsealed

I never called anger a sin. I said anger can easily lead to sin. Jesus clearly stated in:
Matthew 5:22 But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.

Ok. Jesus Christ was angry at the sight of the money changers in the temple, and we all know how that story went. Surely, you do not believe what He did was wrong, do you? undecided

What I am trying to say it is very much ok to be angry and not bottle it up inside. undecided

Well said.....
At the bolded, I wonder is "idiot" meaning "fool"? The "curse" part I didn't know about.
Wondering how a person can "curse" someone?
I find myself having a "righteous anger" when thinking about the current state of Nigeria and the spirits that are in the religion section.

It's quite difficult to "not" get angry about injustice.....in any form.
I have to stay daily praying for victory over this hereditary trait.

Thumbs up for your kind of anger. Satan is the cause of injustice and anger in this world because that is satan's spiritual food. The final solution to injustice in the this world is when this happens: Daniel 2:44 “During the reigns of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed or conquered. It will crush all these kingdoms into nothingness, and it will stand forever.
