The sad thing is that we don't have enough properly tranied doctors and nurses in this country, as well as enough healthcare facilities.

So legalizing abortion is meaningless if the potential person who needs it lives in a village miles away from the nearest proerly equipped health care center.




Well, sex education and contraception access does work....it has reduced unwanted pregnancies in the US for example.

Also, it is legal to teminate ectopic pregnancies and 'life threateing pregnancies' in Nigeria...what is not legal is abortion on demand.

Nope, we don't have enough professionals to do it.

We don't have enough O/G specialists, and we don't have enough hospitals, especially the tertiary hospitals to sort out unanticipated emergency issues.

Rural areas also have issues with access to care. If someone has an aboriton in a rural area, and there is a complicaiton, rushing her to hospital would take a long time...with the poor emergegency services that we have.

Man arrested for allegedly procuring abortion for his girlfriend which caused her death

A 50-year-old man, Wisdom Okoro, has been arrested for procuring abortion pills for his girlfriend which led to her death.

Police operatives attached to the Ikorodu Division of the Lagos State Police Command arrested the suspect on April 11, 2021, for the sudden death of his girlfriend, identified as Enobong Udoh, 38.

One Blessing Pius, reported to the police that Enobong Udoh, was found dead in her house, along Igbogbo Road, Ikorodu, on April 11, 2021, at about 10am.

The police operatives immediately invited her boyfriend, Wisdom Okoro, for interrogation where he confessed that the deceased informed him that she was pregnant in February, 2021 and he was in her house to check on her on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at about 5.14pm.



He said that while he was at her house, Enobong told him that she had terminated her pregnancy. According to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the statement and utterances of Wisdom, revealed that he had some questions to answer.
