from personal experience, I will advice the stident(if such student is studying a professional course) to learn a trade that relates to his or her studies so as to gain more practical knowledge of the course.
programming and other IT related skills are also a plus in the present day world.
skills like painting, screeding, carpentry, plumbing etc are also good for one who wishes to venture into building...

just learn any Skill. but make sure to do market survey to ascertain how lucrative the skill is before venturing into it.

And finally, learn a skill which you can possibly expand on in case you finish school and there is no job.

IPhone and high-end Samsung repairs
Solar and inverter devices installation
Auto mechanic specialising in Benz and Range Rovers

If in Lagos, try to work as an intern in a real estate company. Even if it's just carrying bag to meetings, you won't regret it in a decade.
