Even with our scoreline, I wasn't too impressed with our play ystdy (till after we went 2-0 up)

We started slowly and our players seems to miscontrol the ball or have some wayward passes.

Pepe was guilty of such mostly, followed by partey and saka. Thank goodness it was Sheffield, else we would have been punished for that.
Hopefully, we should start strong against Prague, else... undecided

Ceballos played well ystdy and good pass for the goal. I think he's best suited higher up the pitch than the double pivot he normally plays.

Unto Thurs... Weda it'll be the end of arsenal this season for me or whether we still get continuation grin

Lol... I said he isn't ready for the team. And I gave examples (that is, he's not making consistent runs in cup competitions like fa or carabao cup or even Europa league).
I never talked of making matchday squad. Heck, anybody can make match day squad na.

So which wan come be na wa oo for here again grin

but you just named only two na, and one isn't sure(meaning balogun). The other three you called are already in the team, which we all know that the team needs major improvement.

As for Azeez, unless I see him playing Europa league or carabao/fa cup consistently, then he isn't ready. That's the fact.
@ Spy360.

So we'd be clear on my stance. I feel you misread my stance

I dare say, Partey is the only midfielder on that roster that can receive the ball, turn around with the ball without losing the ball and make a forward progressive play.

I don't know if it's just me but Xhaka seems to be playing that makeshift left back position well anytime he's called upon to do so. I mean he plays it better than Cedric does ( I don't know if I'm right in this but from what I've seen he seem to be well relaxed in that role)

Should the coach be considering playing him there often when Tierney is unavailable pending when we will get a replacement for Kolasinac?

I also noticed that Ceballos plays better in an advance role in midfield, more like an AM and not the CM he's playing losing the ball at critical points on the field.....

I think knowing how to use some of these players will decide how Arteta and Arsenal will end the season

No way he fvcking dead that left position making martinelli isolated and easily crowded
I like the fact that he is well discipline enough not to over step his boundary but he limited our chances.
Against a better team we won't get a good result
Ceballos that guy over do pass himself make we no use shelfield judge these guys abeg they are just there

Well, I was talking from the defensive poing of view when I was talking about Xhaka's performance in that makeshift LB position. His defensive strength that is mostly missing when he plays in the middle shone no just in this last game but also in the other matches I've seen him play that position. As for the attack side of his game, I think everyone knows Xhaka has never been a great attacker so I wasn't expecting him to be making those Tierney attacking runs.

I maintain that Ceballos plays well upfront and not in the CM position in which he's tasked with holding possession, recovering the ball and covering as much space as possible in the middle of the park. Recall that was how he helped us win against sheffield in our run to winning the FA cup last season. If dem Odegard, Smith-Rowe are not available upfront there's nothing bad in giving Ceballos a trial too

As for the ceballos own, I know I said it just ystdy that he's best further up the field. I've forgotten the first game I've seen him play that this season, but this weekend just strengthened the opinion also. Even last season, most of his eye catching performances were when he played upfield(Burnley notable example). He can give the one touch pass, risky pass and can even try a shot, and sometimes try to dribble. All those attributes are riskier whenever he plays deeper but more rewarding wen he plays upfield

Aa for xhaka, I feel he shouldn't play there. Granted he covered up, but most times the opposition aren't that strong thus he isn't ran rugged at. We all know xhaka is not good one on one with an attacker. Moreover, he doesn't attack. Our system of play requires our fb to attack simultaneously (depending on where the ball is on the side of the field) and having one of our fb not attacking at all will make that wing redundant esp if auba decides to play that wing.

I am with you on Ceballos. Just that we cannot be spending time and resources upgrading a player that does not belong to us.

As for Xhaka he wasn't playing LB. He drifts there but his starting position was CM in a 3-5-2 formation. That formation was very fluid, unpredictable and attacking. This made it difficult for Sheffield to deal with despite our below par performance to win with a high margin.
