In countries like these architectural model and impressions eventually translate to the actual structure on ground but down here y'all know where...the finished structure bears little or no semblance to the model brandished all over.

At least their kind of Muslims are not yours that are only known for destruction. The alcohol drinks your people are destroying up and down, Qatar, UAE have alcohol distribution companies, all one need is to apply for alcohol licence to access the facility.

Now, what i was hoping to read if where some anti Islam fanatics would come here and start calling Muslims names. Abusing Allah and Prophet.

Sure, they won't. They will be looking forward to going for the tournament and a lot of them won't let Dubai rest despite the fact that these nations are predominantly Muslims

Where are all those criticizing Living Faith just some few days ago simply because it was announced the new structure they're building will cost 160 million dollars?

Note this is just one of the many stadiums built for the tournament Ooo, yet you are not criticizing human beings for putting such outrageous amount of money just to please the flesh.

But when a structure is raised to build a place to worship God, you people will be wailing blatantly.

Please if not for anything, for the free air we all breathing, God deserves some little respect from all creation.

And this is not just in Qatar, I believe you people can count more than a hundred stadiums for football clubs, basketball, American football etc and each cost outrageous sum of money. Yet just a few religious structures, you are saying the money is wasted.

Please grow up. God deserves more.

First off its not up to 3billion and they have plans to disassemble all of them immediately after the work and transform it to community projects, the way they are built makes it easy for them to do so

Football generate billions of dollars yearly globally, and this world cup will create an international exposure for qatar which will in turn become billions of revenue for them.

Sure they will, the 2022 FIFA World Cup would generate as much as $10 billion in revenue for Qatar, with more than 4 billion viewers worldwide. They built new cities, malls, stadiums, rail stations, airports because of the world cup.

They've been preparing for it since 2010. It's a big honor for a country to be chosen to host the world cup. It's the largest event in history.
Qatar like other modern hosts of the game would not turn a profit. The broadcast rights are reserved by Fifa.
The World Cup is the most lucrative and costliest soccer event because those who pay for the tournament are not necessarily those who see its profits. FIFA, soccer's organizational leader around the world, rakes in billions of dollars in revenue every four years from the World Cup, while the nations that host the tournament foot a bill of $10 billion or more.
In the case of Qatar, it would spend more than $15 billion on none existent infrastructure.
The painful part is that at the end, the stadiums would be mostly abandoned.

Are your assumptions based on antecedents in Qatar or just wild guessing?

Hosting the World Cup isn’t entirely profit-driven just like having a national team and paying the players, the gains are deeper than short-term financial gains.

Qatar even without hosting the World Cup is a major tourist destination, you’ll be surprised that the stadiums and hotels would sell out long after the games are over. Wait till after the event before you judge.

I think FIFA also supports host nations monetarily but in all I believe they’ll be better for it

I think Covid will have a big say in the final figures. Tourism is a big part of income and we cannot say if global travel restrictions will be eased by then. Already the summer Olympics in Tokyo will be void of fans and massive losses in tourism income.

Secondly commercial sponsorships flows with the global economy and things are yet to recover from the pandemic. There will be a lot of cancelled deals.

It will be tough for Qatar. Earnings on their gas resources too are not doing too well at the moment.

Lusail, Qatar - With a capacity of 80,000, Lusail Stadium will be the biggest tournament venue for the 2022 World Cup that takes place in Qatar from November next year.

According to tournament organisers, the stadium’s concrete works, steel superstructure installation and the roof big lift have been completed. [Sorin Furcoi/Al Jazeera]

The stadium which cost $3 billion, will be one of eight venues for the tournament and will host a total of 10 matches, including the final and matches during every stage of the event.

Tournament organisers told Al Jazeera the stadium is set for completion “by the end of 2021”, adding its “concrete works, steel superstructure installation and the roof big lift have been completed”.

Qatar's treatment of its migrant workers has been under the spotlight ever since it was awarded hosting rights in 2010. Tournament organisers have said: "Compliance with ... all relevant Qatari laws will be a prerequisite to the selection and retention by the SC of its contractors and sub-contractors." [Sorin Furcoi/Al Jazeera]

“The venue’s turf was planted in the precinct’s turf farm in August 2020, with inspections indicating good growth progress and overall health.”

The stadium’s design is inspired by the interplay of light and shadow that characterises the “fanar” lantern.

To deliver on the legacy commitments by the organising committee, Lusail Stadium will feature a school, housing, shops, food outlets and health clinics after the end of the World Cup.

A community football pitch will also be built within the premises.

Some installations will be removed from the stadium “to make way for these new amenities”, according to a stadium factsheet produced by Qatar 2022 organisers.

The tournament will be played in November and December next year to avoid Qatar’s summer heat, where temperatures often go past 40C (104F) during the day.

the link you sent to me clearly showed that about 3.2 billion people watched the world cup worldwide while 3.5 billion watched the Olympics.

But let's even forget about the link. Common sense would tell you that simply because there are more sports played in Olympics, there would be more audience. People in India would want to watch Olympics more because they have never been to any recent world cup...that's a potential 1.4 billion audiences more for Olympics

The spectators seats are fixed with air condition cooling facilities. The leg spaces also have air condition holes to keep u comfortably cool throughout the duration of the matches.

Also, they have fixed Air-condition cooling systems on all the major walkways of the cities so that even as you walk on the streets, you are continuously receiving the cooling air.

The country is really utilizing their resources well.
