The governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has dismissed the claim by the governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, that the bank printed and shared money to states as “unfortunate and totally inappropriate”.

Mr Emefiele said printing money is a key mandate of the central bank, and the bank must always act to support the government at times of financial difficulties.

The official handle of the Central Bank of Nigeria, twitted some few hours ago

"The concept of printing of money is about lending money and that is our job...It will be irresponsible for the CBN or any Central Bank or Fed to stand idle and refuse to support its government at a time like this. #Emefiele"

Obaseki was 100% correct.

A lot of critical steps daily are taken by CBN to help government manage the economy. That's their job as it is with their peers all over the world.

Gov. Obaseki was just being mischievous in saying what he said. He was given the printed money, he collected. If he is so patriotic, why didn't he reject the money?
The way these governors talks is like it is only the responsibility of FG improve the economy. What are the 36 governors doing to improve economy? What has Obaseki done to improve Edo State economy since becoming governor?

Mischief. Pure mischief from Gov. Obaseki.

The government of the day are experts in denials, reacting without reasoning and lies. They are always shift to react and deny after which it will be clear that they are guilty.
