Jose Mourinho has been sacked as Tottenham Hotspur head coach.

Appointed in place of Mauricio Pochettino in November 2019, the experienced manager guided Spurs to a Europa League place in his first season despite a host of injuries to key players.

However, following a bright start to this campaign and after reaching the Carabao Cup final, results have been extremely poor since the turn of the year, notably the Europa League exit against Dinamo Zagreb after going to Croatia with a 2-0 lead from the first leg.

Getting back on track with a win at Aston Villa, Spurs have only picked up two points from a possible nine in their last three league games after drawing against Newcastle United and Everton either side of their defeat at home to Manchester United.

With Tottenham now five points adrift of the Champions League places with six league games remaining, Daniel Levy has now made the huge call to part with the man he appointed just under 18 months ago.

It now means Tottenham have to make a decision over who will be in charge of the team for Wednesday evening's Premier League home game against Southampton and also Sunday's Carabao Cup final against Man City.

Tottenham's problem no get solution. it's not about Coach this time but about lying each player up for severe beating after each match loss like what Uday Hussein woulda done to them if he was their president

I think Jose is still a brilliant coach, he probably just needs to take some time off. He isn't done yet!!

it was inevitable, he was once a special one but not any longer, people will tell you he has won everywhere he has gone but right now will you be happy if morinho is hired as your coach? , i remember when he was coaching us in Man utd he will pack bus even against west ham, in as much every team want to win trophy , you still want your team to play good football. goodluck and respect to him him though for what he has achieved over the years .

I saw this coming, I really don't think the problem is Mourinho, any coach would struggle to do well with spurs. Even Pochettino struggled before he left. The team needs new players, they've gotten their transfers wrong.
They should have let him play the carabao cup final at least, he boasted he had delivered at least a trophy in d teams he managed, they should have given him till end of the season; but only them know wetin cause d immediate sack.

I guess that's the end of Mourinho managing any big club in England, I forsee BVB as his next destination, they are really struggling

He was sacked due to his opposition to ESL.

I love Mourinho but I think it is time for him to rest from football. He needs a fresh idea on management.
