The governor noted that the inter-city rail network being constructed by the Federal Government inspired the intra-city project in Lagos.

He said, “For us, it is to seize the opportunity, build the rail infrastructure, go line-in-line with the NRC in some places; we need to build our terminals and sidelines; we need to have a joint communication strategy with them and we need to build overpasses such that we can have intra-city network from Oyingbo to Ebute Meta to Yaba to Jibowu to Mushin to Ikeja to Agege to Ijaiye and finally to Agbado.

“So, while the Federal Government is taking people out of Lagos to other parts of the country, we are keeping our own traffic that is internal to Lagos.”

See a smart hardworking Governor

How did you arrive at the insurer company wont pay cos the destruction was caused by rioting...

They won’t pay for a mass destruction of the buses. Nobody will.

So what does insurance cover?

The policy probably may have been 3rd party cover or comprehensive without SRCC Extension, which I believe was a big mistake from the government brokers

Insurance cover riot and civil commotion as an extension in comprehensive cover and is called SRCC

The buses were purchased during the Ambode's administration. The present government should not be blame for the omissions of the past government.

The government obviously bought a 3rd party cover or comprehensive without SRCC Extension which i strongly believe was an error from their brokers.

So what does insurance cover?[/quote

Insurance policies do not usually cover force majeure (Acts of God, insurrections, civil disobedience, etc).

The are two main issues around this coming up with the probability of such event happening and also the widespread nature of the event.

This makes it unprofitable for insurers.

If you stay in Lagos, you will understand Insurance has been paying under SRCC whenever agberos, soldiers, miscreants, aggrieved motorists, arsonists etc attack and damage the bus.

Stop displaying your ignorance with high confidence. SRCC is also an extended insurance policy, except that such occurrence is witnessed seldomly, no one cares to pay for it. In fact, the marketers will not even market it.

Lagos State can not be blamed for not taking the extension because since her creation such has never happened and I personally will not advise for the extension to be taken because such should never be allowed to occur again.

Also, BRT buses in time past have been fully covered which we have witnessed whenever there is agbero or soldier wahala.

So what does insurance cover?

For better understanding . . .

Even the Governor misled the public when he said Insurance did not cover the vehicle 100%. Insurance policy will cover you 100% as long as it is a Comprehensive insurance policy.

Now there are clauses that could be added to the comprehensive policy that would cover cases like the endsars damages. This is called EBB & SRCC (Strike Riot & Civil Commotion Clause)

With this clause included in your comprehensive insurance policy, insurance will pay claim in the event that your property gets damaged in cases like endsars.

What the governor ought to have said was that the clause was not included in the policy covering the buses, hence they cannot make claims from insurance.

The financial difference is just like 0.5%. i.e Where you pay premium of for a comprehensive policy of 3%, for you to include SRCC in your policy, insurance would charge you 3.5%.

Leave me a mention if anything is not clear
