Theft Alert: Is It True That One Can Do This On Android Phones ? by saratackit(op): 9:01pm On Apr 19, 2021
I saw a feature called the THEFT ALERT and I decided to read more on it... HERE is summary on what I got

THEFT Alerts is a Premium feature that gives you the information you need to recover your device if it has been stolen. Lookout will send you an email to let you know when one of the following actions has been taken on your device:

Multiple failed passcode attempts in a row*
Your SIM card has been removed or replaced
Airplane Mode has been enabled
Your device has been powered off*
Lookout's Device Admin capabilities have been disabled*
*Android only

The email will include the location of your device, and if you are on Android, a photo taken with the front-facing camera. You can choose which behaviors you want to be alerted on at any time...

As easy as that, or is there a simpler way to go about this?

I had this on my old lg g3. The phone was stolen when I rolled down in traffic. I kept getting snapshots of the thief whenever he tried to unlock the phone with location. I even got a notification when the phone made it to computer village, probably to try and flash it. Up till the time the phone landed on the hands of a lady, kept getting her snapshot sent to my email then. I would have easily recovered that phone if I involved the police but just chose to not bother.

The app name should be lookout. It was on my Samsung note3.
It works well only if you turn 'location' settings on, on the phone and the active sim has data on it
