oh please Simon Cowell owns AGT and BGT , don't compare him to this trash on Nigerian idol.there is difference btw constructive criticism and harshness.have watched American idol, agt, bgt, the voice Nigeria,USA, Germany, Australia,Ukraine etc.and let me tell me Nigeria idol is wack.dj sose and obi asika can't even take a simple opinion without seyi Shay input.
Seyi Shay is harsh, rude and don't even Know how to criticize.before u compare them to Simon Cowell.simon Cowell is honest and blunt.alot of contestants comes back just to hear what Simon has to say to them.
I rather watch the voice Nigeria where we have darey, yemi, waje and falz than one rubbish idol.
Seyi Shay need to learn from darey, yemi or waje

Your opinion, my opinion. Funniest part is when you said Simon Cowell is gives honest and blunt opinions... Pls go back to YouTube and watch!!!

Simple thing is "if you can't sing, don't go near the auditions"

My assessment of the 3 judges is as follows:

Seyi Shay: She is actually the most competent of the lot as much as she is the most vilified. Also, she is very open regarding her thoughts and on the rare occasion where she says yes to a contestant because of bias, she actually owns up to the bias i.e looks, personality etc. However, her cynical laughs while contestants were performing during the earlier phase of the auditions were very unprofessional. She improved on this as the show wore on. She could also learn the art of not using absolute terms to describe unsuccessful contestants cos she doesn't know the future e.g you can NEVER make money by singing.

Obi Asika: I like him the most cos of his mature amiable demeanour. But he never seemed to have his own opinion. Always deferring to Seyi or Sose. Heard "like Seyi said, Like Sose said" thousands of times from him already. It's sickening. "There's a voice or something in there somehow, but like Seyi said.." Dammit! Own up to your own thoughts man. But he improved a bit in this area during the last session.

DJ Sose: This guy successfully deceived me into thinking he knew about the technical aspect of music. As the show wore on it became obvious that he was a rookie. I've seen many a technically bad vocal performance, and you'd see Sose nodding his head along sweetly in approval. Then when Seyi blurts out the catastrophic aspects of the song, Mr Sose will then change tune to "You've got some lungs in there, but you're not Idol material" Biko are you a tailor?

Wow...I love this analyses. Soooo on point!

Aha! I remember him now. There was also this guy that performed Whitney Houston's I look to you with his keyboard, can't remember his name. He is one of the best I've seen...

Talking about Faith, most people don't know that she's a sibling to Naomi, the first runner up of season 1. She wants to coman collect it for the family this time around cheesy

About the former, I remember him but forgot his name too, the guy is just too good, Seyi Shay shed tears because of his awesome performance.

I'm was among those that didn't know about Faith and her sister Naomi until I got the info from a friend. About Faith been the winner, anything is possible though, maybe fate may shine on her Family this time around.

My opinion is that there are so many comedians coming for Nigerian Idol audition as against The voice audition.Looks to me that contestant were screened for the voice audition and not Nigerian Idol( guess they trying to give everyone equal opportunity) . Now how do you give constructive criticism to someone who doesn't even understand music?i just laugh when watching NI.But then, truth be told the judges aren't as sound in their criticism as The voice judges.

It is the judges job to be 'harsh' so that a bad singer does not go out on the big stage and mess up big time...instead goes home after being voted off and work on himself or herself...and comes back better

That's life.

It's not their job to be harsh. Maybe you should watch The Voice Nigeria and see how judges should talk to people.

Nigerian idol judges act like demi gods that hold your future in their hands, especially Sheyi shay. She look down her nose at the contestants and acts jealous of the good singers.

Nigerian idol's audition is more open than that of the voice. The voice does not have judges but coaches, their roles are different.

They are judges/coaches because they also do the selection process judging from the voices they hear. When they have to speak a contestant they turn down, they talk to the person with respect.

Even the former judges for Nigerian idols were more cultured and sensible in the way they talked and they had more pedigree than these ones.

What i don't seem to understand is the purpose of the show. I see them rejecting people with unique voices just because they lack confidence or they made some mistakes etc. I feel they were suppose to pick contestant based on their potential...which is their voice. The show was suppose to help these contestant unleash their potential potential, enhance these potentials, help them grow and discover what else they can do with their voices, their ranges, the right tone etc. I just feel all the judges do not realize or know the objective of the show, so they just pivk contestants that they feel wouldn't need much work...the perfect ones instead of the unique ones

Which unique on was not picked?. Because idol judges pick almost anyone that can sing. It's only the voice that have dropped some that could sing.

This Sose guy is not supposed to judge anyone. He doesn't understand what music is. Obi is always afraid to say his mind I don't understand. Seems that are looking for professionals. Why reject someone just because he lacks confidence? They should replace this Sose as soon as possible biko

Thank you jare. I submitted my opinion the other day n I think I was wrong with my submission. The judges are so wack esp that Sose( wtf) .There was a particular contestant Obi gave a second chance to perform ,the guy was good but was nervous and his second performance was way better than first ,his fate was on Obi after Seyi gave a yes n that silly sose gave a no as usual only for Obi to give a No .It's like they duno what they doing in that show. They can be so annoying undecided.

I remembered the guy, Sose was saying obi will buy him food if the guy didn't do well after he gave the guy a second chance. Seriously I was pained too cause the guy performed better the second time, I don't know if he was trying to save face for it not to look like he is running from the bet. They actually don't know what they are doing

I thought I was the only one that felt Kingdom Kroseide's rendition of "I look to you" wasn't that emotional enough to make Seyi cry except there were edited parts during his performance that we didn't get to see.

Sose and Obi have no mind of their own. Seyi Shey easily influence their decision.
Can't believe they eliminated everyone on David's group. Those guys were great. The Beyonce group that were below par went to the next round.

Naaah. Star is supposed to be professional at this stage to know when to vibe in a group song. The person I blamed was that guy among them. I am sure that wasn't how they rehearsed the song but he just wanted to shine thereby singing Star's part. I expected Star to improvise and harmonize with the guy. On a grand stage, na so she go freeze?
But truth be told, Seyi Shay is been biased in her judgment. The three judges are basically wack.

Bro why is everyone cutting comfort some slack? She forgot her lyrics, that is basic error and kindergarten mistake. She didn't even believe that she got through

Her mistake was a domino effect .Only seasoned performers would have been able to maneuver that. The boy tried but to covered their yansh but he did too much

If at all,the 2 girls ought to be eliminated

That's the downside of being in a team.
You might be good on your own but when paired with some others,u can only do much when a lot of things are not in your control
