Use social media. Facebook alone can blow your local presence even w/o running paid ads if done right. It's simple and will cost you zero Kobo to get started.

In fact, it's so easy you may underestimate it and search for something more complex. But like everything it takes consistency

It depends on what ur business is all about and the town.
Create awareness in ur locality (within ur area) by
1. Word of the mouth
2. Creating and sharing fliers
3. Offer great deals like discounts on ur goods and services.
4. Be nice to ur employees, customers and people within your environment.

Since I don't have an idea of what you want to promote, I can't say much.

1. Give out free airtime (N200, N500 or N1000) on every big purchase made, and watch the magic. (This airtime will be deducted from their money, you know how to go about that.)

2. Take the phone number of every customer that patronizes you, and send them new month msgs, including for every event celebrated nationwide.

- Also, send them appreciation msgs, and with time, you'll engrave your brand in their subconscious.

3. Do free home deliveries for those who can't make it to your shop/store. Always emphasize that's its FREE, you can add it to your cost price.

4. Give them little gifts like pens, jotters, plates, cups, etc..every festive season.

5. Offer your customers the warmest welcome whenever they arrive your store/shop..they'd never forget you in a hurry.

6. Text the customers who patronize you the most, and tell them of available discounts before you let it out to the public.

7. Avoid using harsh words on any customer, no matter how hard the situation is.
Remember, bad reviews are real. One negative review might kill your reputation.

P.S. If you have staff/employees working for you, then its vital you train them on these
