Nonsoanthony:

TESTIMONY
Although it's coming late but I know it will be a good source of information for those that are already in Ukraine and want to move to Germany on a Student visa.

My Journey to Deutschland is a case of Determination and Gratitude to God.

I started my Deutschland journey January 2019, I got 5 admission from different schools by May 2019...exactly the month the German Embassy in lagos started this Category A and B of a thing...with thier conditions I fall into Category B. I booked an appointment with category B in May 2019..I prayed and fasted for a month for an appointment and that's to no avail...middle of June I booked category A with a leap of Faith and got an appointment immediately for 6 days later being 24th of June 2019.

I went for my appointment that day after check with Mr Paulinus I was allowed in...when it's my turn to be interviewed..the visa officer was so nice to me but had to turn me back as she said I can't be interviewed cos I didn't belong to category A...I was devastated but it didn't kill my spirit...I had to come back home and rebooked category B with my fasting and prayers. The winter semester 2019 passed no AD, I got an admission for summer 2020 booked and appointment again for Category B the summer semester passed no AD.

By May 2020 I told myself the truth that if I must achieved my dream of studying in Germany I must do it the hard way...I checked up for Ukraine as it will be a good route for me...I applied for Ukraine study visa and got my visa by August 2020. I moved to Ukraine in October after thier lockdown lifting on september 28.

Getting to Ukraine I registered with a school, Got an accommodation and also got my residence permit by end of November 2020. I also got my admission for Germany summer semester 2021 but I was confused whether I will stay in Ukraine for six months before applying from there...I called thier visa center..( Visametric).that was in December of 2020. I told them that I came into Ukraine in October that was 2 months back as of then...if it's possible to apply immediately or stay for 6months...They gave me a wonderful news I wanted to hear that I can apply immediately....they gave me date of on the phone immediately for December 11 which I later cancelled cos my block account wasn't ready..and rebooked for end of January 2021.

On the day of my appointment I went to the visa center ( visametric) at kryshatric street in Kiev.. as they told me on the phone..that there won't be any interview for the visa....It was only me that came for the submission that day..They just checked my documents and confirmed it was ok..I paid my vfs fee, visa fee and thumprinted.

Exactly a month after I received a call from the visametric that my documents has been returned from German Embassy and will be delivered the next day...my BP was on the high side as I wasn't aware of the content but I was very hopeful...when the parcel was returned the visa was stamped to the Glory of God. I was given a 6 months visa as against thier normal 3 months because of corona.

I arrived Germany two weeks ago... Germany is beautiful... Germany is powerful...I have been to Ukraine but seriously u can't compare the two..I just moved into my apartment in Nuremberg city and in the process of my residence permit at the moment.

THE GERMAN DREAM WORTH IT..... PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP..
Hello bro, please I'd like to connect with you as regards the Ukraine Student visa.

Previously I was eager to try the Benin route for AD but after speaking with my uncle that have lived there for over 20years+ I changed my mind. He called a friend who is an agent that facilitates travel papers for people, who told him I can't be issued permit that would enable me to apply for interview as I am not a resident of Benin Republic. He went further to state that the process in getting resident permit is not easy & straight forward as I think.
Pls guys be mindful & careful because alot of wolf in sheep clothing are roaming seeking whom to swindle. Some persons here have dubious & wicked intentions. Coupled with the current economic reality in Nigeria, people are more desperate to make ends meet using any avenue, pls be guided! German waka no easy, don't fall victim & lose your money. Hello, bro. Do you know whether if I book for Turkey Visa I can be able to apply for German Student visa over there.

And would I have to stay for 6months?

Thanks.

What Turkish visa do you want to apply for?
Are you going to be applying from Nigeria?

Anyways, whichever visa you get to Turkey, you’ll have to live in Turkey for six months counted from the day you got stamped in before applying for the German visa.
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by OdogwuEkeke(m): 8:28pm On Apr 21, 2021
Getting a residence permit in the Republic of Benin is straightforward.

I was in contact with someone at the immigration and he actually billed me and showed me a copy of an original residence permit alongside a consular card for Nigerians. Unfortunately, I could not further.

Now, the issue is not really about getting a residence permit in Benin. They understand the demand to come into their country for an appointment date. Hence, the German embassy states that it will only respond to people with a residence permit that is older than 6 months.

I have shared the email on this thread earlier

Nna ehn It is well Brethren

Getting a residence permit in Dubai is almost a million for 2 years.

Now, if you do the processing yourself then good for you. If you apply through an agent to do a Warehouse job or so all in the name of getting a residence permit and apply to the German embassy there then OYO is your case.

Jobs in Dubai are normally based on a contract, if you get a warehouse job and the contract is for a year, you will not be able to leave Dubai until the contract expires. Some agents even collect your passport. So, be well informed!!! People going to Germany from Dubai were living in Dubai or had so much money to apply for their residence permit.

@nellystrong7

This is the first time I am hearing about the extension of the letter of presence.
Can you explain further because the letter of presence was included in the Admission for me that year.

nellystrong7:
ARRANGEMENT OF DOCUMENTS FOR INTERVIEW.
First & most importantly get to the embassy earlier than your scheduled time for interview. Arrival time will be stamped on the print out on your AD mail.
Makes at least 2copies each of your documents. U can take along certificates not listed which U think can make a difference.
Mr Paulinus will tell U how to arrange your documents. If U didn't make upto 2copies per document, he will ask U to go & get it done outside which is very expensive.
After arrangement, U will be ushered into the hall where U will sign IN, and asked to sit & wait for your turn.
Don't go with any bag. If U do, U will be asked to find somewhere outside the embassy to keep it. There is a fair woman that helps stranded people with that but at a cost. I suggest U go along with a file or water proof envelop.
Like @Odogwu said, prepare well. They ask wide range of questions. Answer U give to a question would determine the next question that would emerge.
Study previous transcript of questions. They are very helpful. U may be given an exam at the end of the oral interview.
Very importantly make sure your Motivation letter or SOP(Statement Of Purpose) is brilliantly written. If possible ask someone to check it out for U. This is because your interview transcript along with your documents will head to the district where your school is located in Germany. So the Motivation letter or SOP will speak & articulate your points & clear any doubt about your application.
If your studies has started make sure U have an extension letter of presence with U. It is assumed U are to resume before matriculation. But if U are going for Winter 2021 U don't need extension letter.
Relax & prepare well. Don't be scared or anxious for nothing OK. U will succeed. There is light @ the end of the tunnel.

Let's pray the new person wouldn't make things difficult for Nigerians both the ones coming or the ones with the intent of staying back.

Good Morning Scholars!!!

Quick question.

For those that have gone for an interview, which is appropriate native, corporate, or business casual?

Bearing in mind the interviewer might be Nigerian lol.

Is this even something to consider??

Was the ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) used in your bachelor programme?
Yes, I received ECTS-credit points
No, in my Bachelor another credit system was used

We do not use the ECTS system.

I believe you can manage what each school will see for each application.-

You are right in most parts, but let me add these:
1. Since your mission is to have a residence permit for Germany embassy application, find out the kind of WORK CONTRACT your employer is offering you.
2. There are 2 types of work contract viz Limited and Unlimited. You can cancel unlimited contract at will, without any Labour Laws infringement, so also you can be sacked. If your contract is limited, you will have to pay your employer 45 days wage and if your employer likes, can recommend you for ban, i.e. you will not be able to work in the UAE for a period.
3. It is illegal for your employer to hold on to your passport IF and ONLY IF you demand for it and s/he refused. You can report and press charges. You can't hold someone else's national ID for any reason when you are not a 'flight risk' person or suspect. Although, employers holding worker's passport is a common thing that have been 'normalised' because most workers don't demand for it nor oppose it. The only occasions my passport was with my employer were when he took it to the Immigration for stamping after employment and when he took it back to immigration for cancellation when I resigned.

If you apply THROUGH uni-assist to different schools or different courses, you have to write INDIVIDUAL Motivation Letters to EACH school and/or course. There is no, ONE SIZE FITS ALL when it comes to motivation letter.
When you write the Motivation Letter, rename each according to the course and school before uploading it on your uniassist portal. E.g. ML_BIOLOGY_UNI ZU KÖLN, ML_PHYSIOLOGY_UNI BREMEN...
It is the responsibility of uni-assist to sort out which motivation letter for each school and/or course PROVIDED they are WELL NAMED. That's why you paid for handling fees.
