DSS and FBI deals with Homeland intelligence gathering.

Don't u know that life of cows are more valuable than you ? Get a private security outfit because even the govt can't be sure of their protection. Sadly, she's not told the circumstances that should make the DSS attend to her swiftly. If considered life-threatening, I think it is unfair not to treat as such.

Homeland Security - DHS. The CIA is not Constitutionally operable on US soil. Before 911, domestic terror was the purview of the FBI. Still is though but the DHS is the clearing house for all security threats both clandestine and plain criminal.

You must be kidding! The DSS exists to protect any government in power. They are used by the president and governors to protect themselves and to harass journalists, opposition politicians and enemies of the families of politicians. They do not attend to any silly national threat. If they did they would be in the forests fighting kidnappers and bandicts.
