Suspected Boko Haram terrorists are currently attacking Geidam, the headquarters of Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State and hometown of the acting Inspector-General of the Police, Baba Alkali.

Premium Times’s correspondent could hear sounds of heavy gunfire as he spoke on the phone with a source in the town on the development.

“I cannot talk now, I am sure you are hearing the sound of gunshots. Let’s talk when the situation is calm,” the frightened resident of the town said.

The last time the insurgents attacked Geidam was on February 9, barely 24 hours after the new chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, visited troops after his appointment.

Premium Times reported that three Customs officers were abducted by the insurgents during that attack.

A source revealed that a Nigerian Air Force jet has been deployed to the town to dislodge the attackers.

Details of the attack are still sketchy as people are indoors for their safety.

The police spokesperson in the state, Dungus Abdulkarim, said ”he needed to get across to his people on ground in Geidam” before responding to press inquiries.

This is Fake News by enemies of the state.


Those boys are not boko haram, they are just peaceful Halleluyah Boys who are celebrating their brother who was recently appointed as the acting IGP.

This is what you get when nepotism comes first in appointment of security Chiefs and operatives. I remember when General Ihejirika was dealing with Boko Haram and they were accusing him of taking revenge for Biafra and even requested Obama to stop every sales of weapons to Nigeria.
Then in desperation the FG went to black market and Russia to acquire weapons and the jet of Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor the then CAN Chairman was rented and used to transport cash to pay for arms with the full knowledge of the South African Govt, but APC opponents scuttled the move with spurious claims and the South Africans were put under pressure to 'seize' the money.

They even accused GEJ of been the leader of Boko Haram which was believed by the Talakawa in the North.
Today, we just received the sad news of the murder of abducted students of Greenfield University Kaduna by this same terrorists who are unfortunately called bandits in Kaduna, Unknown gunmen in Imo, Hoodlums in Kwara, Herdsmen in Benue etc

This corntree is a joke. Boko haram bringing the fight to your door step. When will Nigeria army/police ever take the fight to them? Wait, they are still fighting ESN and IPOB. By the time Boko boys are done with Nigeria uniform men. The Nigeria military will be recruiting every week
