It can still come back, especially in the rainy season. Look at what’s happening in India. They thought they were “post COVID” when their numbers went down like ours and started conducting political rallies. This was the result: 4 Likes

So since the beginning of Covid for more than a year now,Kogi has only 5 cases,Lagos of about 15million overcrowded inhabitants 58,000+;and Kano with at least 10million people mingling with each other,3000+? The covid virus in Nigeria is just a mild variant, that's why deaths,at least officially are low,but that our infection rate is very low is just mere clowning. If we are a serious country and the world sees us as one,not the clowns the leaders we have are, Nigeria would have been bombarded by scientists, health organisations, renowned academic health institutions to discover why the covid 19 virus seems adverse to our bodies. But for the fact they don't believe us,our figures and whatever numbers we chunk out,the world has paid no single attention to the abracadabra numbers we publish daily. Shameful. 4 Likes |

God has been really Faithful on us in this part of the world, look at India with all the advanced medicine and health system, they called for SOS as they have been overwhelmed by this virus while we have been on the decline and registering zero deaths for days now. |

Seun: You have a point, but the infection rate is very low here, with the kind of population we have and the carelessness of our people, our infection rate would have surpassed india but so far here we are zero death and dropping cases. 1 Like |

Seun: I don't think so, Calabar is one city in Nigeria that experience rainfalls all through the years though the volume of rainfalls can't be compared to the Indian Monsoon yet the city record has been on the low too. Something must have contributed to this our low infection rate honestly and scientist needs to come up with some findings. 2 Likes |

doctokwus: I honestly don't think the numbers are abracadabra. Why? Because we don't see dead bodies littering the streets and our hospitals are not overwhelmed with sick people - covid or any other disease. You can't hide such disease if it explodes like the way it's doing in the US, Europe or India. Given the way we have been careless with the disease - both the government and the people, we should all have contracted covid by now. The Lagos state government had since closed its isolation centre and people generally don't take social distancing and mask wearing serious anymore. The vaccine roll out in Nigeria is a huge joke. I think our relative immunity might be related to malaria. If you notice, malaria zones like West Africa is relatively covid free compared to non malaria zones. Even within Africa, countries with relatively few malaria infections tend to have higher covid infections and deaths. countries with similar climate to West Africa but with no malaria tend to have higher covid infections. I think the industrialised countries have not looked into this relative immunity hypothesis because it does not help them for now and it's a racial thing. 3 Likes |
