Once upon a time winning trophies and getting the job done was Jose Mourinho’s specialty. The self acclaimed special one, only one and happy one was famous for great feats as a manager having led FC Porto to the Uefa Cup now callled Europa League in 2003 and the following year the Champions League even as under dogs, beating reputable teams like Manchester United and Real Madrid on the way to the final.

Mourinho was young, promising, inspiring and tactical. A former interpreter to Sir Bobby Charlton at Barcelona, Mourinho began his path upwards first at Benfica and not long he got the Porto job.

After his heroics in 2004. He was the most sought after manager in the world with Chelsea having just been bought by Russian Billionaire Roman Abrahamovic were looking to become a dominant force in European football. Mourinho was appointed to lead the charge.
Mourinho assembled a remarkable squad buying the likes of Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, Arjen Robben, Mateja Kezman etc.

Mourinho began his first of two eras with the blues.
His first spell at Chelsea was great . Despite being sacked in his fourth season at the Stamford Bridge club. Mourinho set an unprecedented record winning the League cup twice, the FA Cup, the league twice and getting to the Champions League semi final three times. Mourinho only excels when u give him an open cheque to sign any player he wants, no matter the cost. If u don't, he will do exactly what he did in Tottenham, achieving nothing . Same thing will also happen to Guardiola. Both of them succeed only when there is unlimited supply of transfer funds.

This was why Jose was so successful at Chelsea, real and inter.

His weakness of isolating players and open criticism caught up with him at united, though winning the uefa cup and league cup at 1 st season.

Mourinho is no longer a good coach... besides, coaches don't last on top for so long....all top coaches presently were not recognised a decade ago...Mourinho has finished, been in the game for 18yrs....how many coaches last this long in top football... most good coaches fade off after 10-15 yrs... he has passed his prime

do u know how long the coaches of Leeds United, Marco Bielsa and Carlo Ancelloti of Everton have spent in football? Marco Bielsa has been a manager since 1980 till now! Carlo Ancelloti has been managing since 1995 till now. Leeds United and Everton are doing well even without huge amount of funds..How about Sir Alex Ferguson? He spent longer than Jose Mourinho. Age even make them better with experience. Age is not why Mourinho is declining.
Jose Mourinho is only declining because his recent clubs either have no money to spend like Tottenham, or they are unwilling to spend like when he was in Manu.

mourinho is past his peak n he is still enjoying his past glory n records n dts why some people still respect him..
said it countless times dt I dnt see anything special with mou currently but his die hard fans would keep comparing him with pep dts still winning trophies and setting records..

Exactly....he mocked others when he was younger and on top of the game by spending big and using one tactics. Now the ground is even and his tactics found out...he cannot do anything special anymore. He is just like any other average clach but hey, his past glories is still keeping him relevant I guess..

Until any other coach can use a team such as Porto to win the champs league, then everyone should shut it .....

Bielsa....from Argentine national team to division 2 in England Leeds....anchelotti from Milan, Madrid, Chelsea and bayern to Everton... they sef have passed their prime
