DaddyGoo: Logically thinking it is impossible. So many things could go wrong but speculating we have compromised pilots. Omo that has to be Kwale weed at work. |

DaddyGoo:He means the state should look at the efficacy of self-contained systems for homes and business excluding diesel generators, depriving the terrorists of easily sabotageable centralised systems. I guess the state could concentrate on providing or help finance self-contained systems for vital infrastructures like hospitals and industries. Perhaps seek partnerships with providers and innovators of current solar energy developments. The so-called developed worlds seem keen on assisting developing Nations adopted alternative energy. Ordinarily the idea of homes and business providing their own power appears like exorbitantly expensive enterprise but if terrorists are going to adopt the policy of blowing up pylons and power distribution stations in this state and eventually nationwide – which common sense suggest will happen – adopting self contained power policy will be cost effective. The less extreme but still decentralised systems such as discussed in the article linked would still prove challenging for terrorists to successfully disrupt: Moving towards a decentralised grid https://www.therma-mech.co.uk/what-is-decentralised-energy-and-why-is-it-important/ https://www.raconteur.net/energy/decentralised-energy-grid/ |

There's a huge difference between the counterinsurgency operations in Syria and Iraq and that of Nigeria. It takes months at times for defenses of some cities to be broken because they have multilayered defenses. Here in Nigeria, NA sets a thin line of defense and once that is broken, that's the end of the defense of the town. If they must be defensive, they should do it properly. They should send some officers to those countries to learn counterinsurgency warfare. |

DaddyGoo:Each city has its own power plant so there is no need to transmit outside the towns. Something like the rural electrification project. |

Yesterday's set back for the army is like an intoxicating wine to the enemies, they've tasted victory and they'll comeout more confidently and daring in subsequent attacks. I urge the military not to allow yesterday's disaster dampen their efforts as the stakes are higher now. These are also terrible times for commanders as those NCOs may easily lose it and turn their weapons against their superior Officers. |

demolition:I agree with you fully. We should remember that less rational things have happened over the course of this war however. For example, who would have thought that, seeing the situation at hand, the $2billion for arms would ever be the cesspit it became? |

IGpro1:Has Iran played with Israel to the point Israel is helpless? Has Iran provoked the US to the point US lost all her reprisal options? If you know how close US & Russia was in nuking each other in the 60's 70's & 80's you wont say this. It is a good thing nations are becoming more responsible, that doesn't mean the nuclear option isnt on the table as a LAST RESORT, you will never take Moscow, Washington, Paris, London, Tel Aviv, Beijing, Delhi from any of these guys without a bang!! |

IGpro1:So your Idea of Africom is a bunch of US soldiers fighting for Nigeria, is that what you think? AU is bigger than Nigeria, number 1 to 3 best militaries in Africa are AU members, Nigeria sits at the 4th place, a synergy of 1 & 2 alone will annihilate Nigeria let alone number 3. |

NuraSambo:Very good question, NATO was in Libya not to save it but destroy it at the behest of France a member. It was United Nations Security Council Resolution 1973 that invited NATO, same members of the UNSC that voted for the resolution were coincidentally NATO members, what do you expect? |

Odunayaw:That is what we already know from battlefield pictures, a foreign intelligence source revealed that arms from Libya & Mali (once troubled states) to West Africa is less than 10%, there is no doubt Boko & ISWAP restock from our supplies. |

This new Air force chief seems clueless, he doesn't know what he's doing, I mean he's taking the Air force back to stone ages, I wish the former chief was still in charge, under this new Air force chief tenure, a lot of things has happened under his watch..jeez ![]() |

A fresh attack has been carried out by gunmen on a security formation in Rivers State and five soldiers have been reported killed. The gunmen on Monday morning attacked the camp at Abua, in Abua/Odual Local Government Area, killing the officers. Although the six Division of the Nigerian Army in Port Harcourt is yet to release an official statement, two top security personnel in Rivers State confirmed the attack and killings to Channels Television. Meanwhile, all heads of security agencies in Rivers State are currently at a meeting at the headquarters of the Rivers State Police Command, ostensibly to re-strategise ahead of the new scale of insecurity in the state. This attack comes barely 24 hours after gunmen killed some police and customs officers at their patrol base in Isiokpo, the Headquarters of Ikwerre Local Government, which is along the Port Harcourt-Owerri road. While the Police are yet to reveal the casualty figure for Saturday night’s attack in Isiokpo, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) had said three of its personnel were killed by the gunmen. The spokesperson for Zone C, Custom’s Federal Operations Unit, Mr Jerry Atta, told Channels Television on Sunday that the gunmen also went away with an AK-47 rifle and two Toyota Hilux vans belonging to the service. He said a thorough investigation would be carried out to unravel the circumstances that led to the attack and to unravel the motive of the assailants. Atta blamed the killing of the security operatives on armed smugglers whose businesses have been frustrated by the customs in recent times. https://www.channelstv.com/2021/04/26/another-security-formation-attacked-in-rivers-soldiers-feared-killed/ |

cutievik:Nigerians should take the trouble to think about situations. The brain was given for a reason. When you are an Army company on the ground and you radio for air support, the *nearest* aircraft is asked to come to you. What if it was vectored in from another engagement and dies not have any more bombs, rockets and even fuel to make it back to base?. It woukd have to leave you without engaging but there is value in the trip because it might have scared the enemy away or given information to joint operations control. It is always annoying to hear these reports of NAF coming and leaving without engaging and dunces concluding that it was sabotage |

Roan77:Under the watch of the former Chief more than two hundred civilians taking refuge at the IDP camp in Rann were bombed to ashes. Tolulope Arotile that Yoruba girl acclaimed for her successful flight missions against Boko Haram was killed at the air force base under suspicious circumstances. These two incidence are some examples of the mess witnessed during the tenure of the former Air boss. It has nothing to do with cluelessness of the current CAS. It's way more than that. The country itself is sick |

Jakpon:But bro you can agree with me that current chief is taking the Air force back to stone ages, does wonderful Air strike videos and pictures are no longer coming anymore, no official statement has been made about the missing jet, nor the missing pilots, nothing has been said about it, and it seem we have all moved on from it. Where is the communication and professionalism in yesterday accident? Killing 20 sf is a very hard devastating thing to forget. I'm the last person to criticize the Nigerian armed forces, but yesterday accident was a very sad one, I'm still yet to get over it. |
