Wasn't there a prediction about Nigeria collapsing ? This is what worries me the most, not Iswap, but the constant rate of chaos enveloping the entire country, Nigeria doesn't have the manpower to put out all these fires. If care isn't taken, the whole darn place is collapsing right in front of our eyes, all because the darn police and security agencies and politicians can't do their jobs and secure the country.
Right now legislative committees should call in Cabinet members and military leaders for hearings/grilling, so they can explain the madness we are seeing all over the country. But in Naija, smh, won't hold my breathe.
Oh well, at least we weren't selfish in our budget, we got Iswap some Mraps. Fvkers.
We can't seem to contain the mayhem in the northeast yet we are opening more fronts in almost all regions of the country, were we ought to use the carrot and stick approach we use a hammer, where we ought to use a hammer we use carrots to romanticise the problem. There are people that benefits from a destabilised Nigeria, people whose stock in trade is giving out contracts for weapons, equipments, buyers/sellers and black market merchants, politicians, military contractors etc Well, like I always ask who is in charge of the affairs of this country? I've said it before that if Bokoharam decide to strike Abuja today they'll do it without any hassles as there is nothing really serious in place
to checkmate any act of terrorism, Bokoharam have hoisted their flag in some parts of Niger about 2hrs drive to Abuja sacking communities and we're not yet bothered only hoping on insha'Allah.

Seven persons have been confirmed dead, with many others injured, after armed Fulani herdsmen attacked Abagena community housing Internally Displaced Persons camp in Makurdi Local government Area of Benue State.

DAILY POST gathered that angry youths, who were enraged by the killings, took the Makurdi-Lafia road to protest on Tuesday morning, blocking the roads with the dead bodies.

Reacting, the State Governor, Samuel Ortom in a statement, described the attack on the IDPs camp as inhuman, barbaric and unacceptable.

The Governor called on President Muhammadu Buhari to live up to his responsibility of protecting Nigerians.

He lamented that in the last two weeks, over seventy persons had been killed in Makurdi Local Government alone, while various communities across Benue were suffering from same militia herdsmen.

Ortom also called for urgent action against the activities of militia herdsmen across the country.

“If the Federal Government had taken the issue of militia herders seriously, it wouldn’t have escalated to this level,” he said

ISWAP has captured newly delivered Nigerian army MRAP.

This is beyond embarrassing.

I feel very, very ashamed!!!
I knew this may likely happen one day since the day I saw how they were transporting the new VT 4 deliveries. But we don't learn until it happens

The carnage in Nigeria is under reported by the media
A lot of people are dying almost daily in the North West geopolitical region of Nigeria. People are been killed there by bandits and Fulani heardsmen. Most of it are not even reported.

When you go to a country like Benin republic, you will be shock with how peaceful the country is. Even if you want to start searching for news of gunmen killings, you might not get one in weeks.

In Benin republic, once they get hold of this fulani heardsmen, they do kill them immediately. Fulanis and bandits hardly try all this bullshit they try in that country.

This is the biggest issue.

Our Intelligence infrastructure has collapsed completely.

Looking at DSS officers attached to the governor of Borno state docking and hiding the last time he was attacked.

As soon as I saw those images, I knew we were in big trouble.

A million man army or high tech; be serious about the borders; trust none of the allies, not the coalition members, not the Pakistani, not the Americans, UK, PMC, not arms sellers -trust none; for every advice, information, etc, ponder what ways it could turn out counter-productive. Seek more cooperation with the Chinese yet do not glibly accept all help and advice….

Nigerians should take the trouble to think about situations. The brain was given for a reason.
When you are an Army company on the ground and you radio for air support, the *nearest* aircraft is asked to come to you.
What if it was vectored in from another engagement and dies not have any more bombs, rockets and even fuel to make it back to base?. It woukd have to leave you without engaging but there is value in the trip because it might have scared the enemy away or given information to joint operations control.

It is always annoying to hear these reports of NAF coming and leaving without engaging and dunces concluding that it was sabotage
It was in 2017, it was discussed here extensively from reliable sources, the pilot was avoiding blue on blue reason he refused to engage, was a good call, if this pilot made the same call, we will lose Mainok no doubt but we will have a SF platoon alive.

We don't have mraps, we don't have mraps.
Now it's here.

Then somebody thought it would be a good idea to strap them on flat bed trucks and escort them with Hilux.

Someone should get kicked out of the army for such decisions.

Now this vehicles are just gonna be torched. Millions in the drain.

The vehicles are usually carried in a convoy.

Let us tell ourselves the truth, the Nigerian army is an ineffective fighting force. The army is moderately equipped, but poorly trained and poorly organized.

Deep down in our hearts, we all feared a scenario were the VT4 Tanks are captured by the terrorists.

It's just a terrible, terrible situation.
The bolded is really becoming the norm and a sad reality. A really sad reality. There is a systemic lack of discipline and organization, and it hurts me to admit this.

The situation where camps are overrun calls to question the ability and courage of our military planners. They have not shown foresight neither have the brass shown enough courage to want to end this war.

Yes we have spent a fortune on new equipment but equipment don't win wars, men do!

Sir, we only need to Man up.

Bleep the idiots on whose shoulders the responsibility to gather intelligence, act on it and produce results, need to man up.

They know what to do, they are not just doing it.

Whoever is in charge of logistics should be jailed for negligence of duty. Don't be surprised is the incident repeats itself.

NAF should resume air interdiction, NA isn't ready to continue with the offensive and there is nothing stopping the terrorists from planning and organizing attacks. No attack on their logistics and so on and we expect them not to pull together 50 guntrucks to attack poorly defended bases.

Niger state can be handled by 8 division though it will be wise to create another division in that angle.

Stop making the overstretched excuse for the army, they can easily recruit 20k people, train them in 6 months or less and deploy them. Get emergency funds for weapons and other things.

The actions of NA are deliberate, 1997 they were in Liberia, 2002 they were in Sierra Leone. 2006 they were still fighting militants in the Niger delta.
I have seen NA deploy in times of crisis. They are not naive to warfare, they are deliberately sabotaging the war.

Things are getting very bad, getting seriously out of hand. Isn't there a way we can invite contractors or colonial powers to help? We can't just keep deceiving ourselves to be a big country, we need outside hands to stabilize this situation.

In fact, at this point, all infrastructure construction and non essential expenses in Nigeria should be suspended and money channelled to security.

We need PMCs from South-Africa, security has gone completely out of hand.

We need to bury our heads in the sand, and do the right thing.

Nothing is stable, I don't support giving the military more money, we should have a separate agency which is responsible for procurement and servicing of military equipment in the open.

The military has proven to be very incompetent.

We are just like the Iraqi army, but at least Iraq army have the feared Golden Dawn Division (Special Forces unit).

In Nigeria we had 72 MSF, we had AFSF effective units that were shut down because of politics and utter foolishness.

No, I’m suggesting away from advice given, we (among Nigerians only) study where potential traps may arise, before proceeding.

Gwoza was the former capital of Bokoharam, the military captured it. There is nothing special about Gudzamala that it can't be captured. The only problem is having troops to hold it and they have deliberately done nothing about that.

Why can't Nigerian military build a drone and helicopter base somewhere that is much closer to the battle field? Housing just drones and helicopters, that is all.

Honestly, these are good suggestions but I don't even understand the kind of president we have. Can he just get out from there so Osinbajo can take over, the latter has better ideas for governance.

Gunmen attacked the Federal High Court complex in Abakaliki the Ebonyi State capital early Tuesday.

The assailants torched the library and security sections of the building.

No death was recorded but two of the three security guards on duty sustained minor injuries.

If it is built with sense any attempt to overrun it will end in tears for the terrorists. All logistics for the base will be done by airplanes.

Our President shows no empathy, he's cut off from the reality of today's Nigeria. Presidents before him Jonathan, Yar'Adua, Obasanjo even Abacha would have addressed the Nation by now.

Only one division cater for Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara and Kwara. Very large expanse of land with compromised security already.

Countries with far greater landmass but far fewer numbers of troops perform far better than thee NA against armed groups.

It is very deliberate.
