Concetta:
I hope they (those professors) have already built in systems that would create awareness on how to avoid plagiarism and go about proper research. If not, then this is just another tool that some unprofessional lecturers would use to frustrate students in Nigerian universities. Besides they should start from above; most works published in Nigerian journals are plagiarised with no proper methods and results presentation.
All scholars should know without been told that plagiarism is equivalent to theft and they do not necessarily need any special awareness campaign.

A Plagiarism software is not a technological advancement or a thing to call for a conference as this oh my country Nigeria.

common guys there are hundreds of plagiarism detectors out there, and any one can possibly design one.

this is an end to mindless lifting of unconnected words and pasting them to form books called project. when Nigeria don't have recent published work on project topics or falsified research methods to manipulate data, what's there to plagiarize.

to me, this doesn't make any sense. Why not just pay for plagiarism software in the market and use it. And put efforts into making research on things that affects your immediate society.

the last paragraph

is an attempt to steal tax payers money... cry

The article says it was "unveiled" as if it already exists, but the fine print reveals it will still take 3 years to "develop, deploy and market".

The first speech to be detected will be a statement by Buhari via his Presidency Media assistant only then will Pantami realize it's a bad idea.

I don't think students in schools in Nigeria were ever trained on the proper way to write their projects and how to avoid cases of plagiarism. We only learned by copying what those before us had done.

generalizing issues mean one thing. - pain of jobless fellow. Nigeria still have good academicians, if the institution that you graduated from doesn't have it, that doesn't mean every lecturer in the country are weak.
