It's true, that's part of the job ethics, new recruits will compulsorily service a two years probation before been confirmed... during the period of this two years, female recruits are forbid to getting pregnant, if pregnancy happened by mistake it will lead to automatic dismissal, unless you have a very strong backing (Godfather)
