Chiggsglover:
I have read lots of amazing stories and experiences from the adventures of Nigerians in various part of the world. I usually feel somehow writing mine but decided I have to do it because it achieves various purposes like it makes Nigerians get a grip of the country and realities in the country. In my school, DBS, when you're inside, you'll think you're in India. Due to the fact that they spread the news about potential countries that is suitabe for migration, clear the path for those coming by suggesting suitable courses so they can easily get job. There's a reason the indians are dominating the workplace in Canada.

In my class, we're just three Nigerians, thirty Indians in a course that has potential. You need to see how these guys cooperate, I get overwhelmed.
The Nigerians in my class, I tried to be open to them, I got so irritated by their response that I feel so great when I heard school has been locked down by the virus.
When it got to Group assignment, they lumped me and them in one group. The only indian in my group ran away to another group of Indians.
The reality in my class is just how Nigeria is. We need to cooperate more and help others. In my workplace, two Nigerian guys are there, igbos like me, den do anyhow, I left them and na one Kenya guy wey don stay for this country show me the way. The other Africans in the place don sabi say you need to watch one another back and cooperate.
The goal of this thread is to simply draw your attention and FOCUS to Ireland. Leave US, dont apply to that country directly, even Canada sef, Start looking at Europe, it's easier to enter here than those countries.
From Europe you can branch to any country of your choosing.
If you can learn the German language, Germany is a great country. The indians don dey rush PhD there. You do a research one and get €1000 monthly plus free tuition. Indians will see this kind opportunity and broadcast it to their people. We will see such and only tell immediate family members.

Blacks are so few here. The indians are Many, you wont know because their skin is light, they have straight hair and they simply blend in. I have to look at them closely or from the garlic spice, I instantly know they're the one.
The more of our people we have here, the better for us, that's what people dont know. The reason you enjoy interacting easily with Americans socially is the work of our Brothers. Over the years, they've had various blend of the black race generation by generation.
The Irish community are not used to us. Den no born you well to apply for governorship post or marry their woman. That one na another matter, it's best to avoid them.

I've said so much. All those Agencies that will be posting Canada 2020, USA visa!!!!!! Up and down, RUN

You'll carry refusal letter like Trophy.
Average Nigerians here in this country, den don carry at least one Denied from either Canada or USA.
It's like the period when the Unilag craze was there, secondary teachers caused this, they made people feel like Life will end if you dont go to unilag. I knew someone applied seven times, that's seven years gone!

Its about the course you read and the grade, Not the school.
You're better off studying in the North, lower cost of living, less strike, then you come out, apply abroad, life continues.

When I was applying, I was almost pushed to start chasing big school where I will pay huge school fees and go broke. I knew a friend that was chasing big name, he was denied admission due to the fact that the school is competitive. But sense came o, let's leave ratings alone, as long as the school and the course is accredited. Study ya thing and come out. It's only Havard and oxford, if you get the grade and you know that the way is clear, you can push it if you're an Einstein. Not being an einstein like me, doesnt mean you're a failure.

Lemme drop my pen here.

bro, i smell your goodness of heart from here... thanks for this

This is called Daffodils
How this garden plant work is interesting!
You plant these in any pattern you like, it could be a line, circular, or you could make alphabets with it.

The amazing thing about this plant is that it dies off every winter and come up at spring, the exact plant. I think it keeps a part of itself inside the soil and shoots out in Spring. Just like the mythical bird, The Phoenix.

My friend you're doing well

There are free agencies for Ireland application, UKEAS, studyacrossglobe. If you're asked to pay, RUN.

If you want to know my own,
They did a great job in counseling me to study my course, opening my eyes to the opportunity in Ireland, the way POF works, hint to pass my IELTS(I had 70%), they still keep in touch with me to know how theyll advise future applicants like theyre doing for others before me. In all, the service is excellent, compared to my previous one.

Nice work you're doing here, I'm as well looking at relocating to Ireland via studies.
this particular revelation on how you were adviced to switch to Data Analytics got my attention. How can i get in touch with them?

@chiggslover, I'm interested in your answer to the question above
It's super simple. You even have experience, which is great and it gives you competitive advantage.

First of all. If you don't have experience in these applications. Locate the free Agents available. I have mentioned them in my threads, I won't keep repeating them to avoid being flagged.

And Next, Find a good course you like that's competitive, this course will usually be more narrower than your Bachelors since you're progressing academically to Master's. It gets very narrow when you're getting your PhD.
For example, Economics - > Data Analyst - > Machine learning.

In addition, getting a good course might involve you going through the job board and finding out what the employers needs. You can check the government list for Critical skill work permit. This is even more better because once you're on this list, you're on direct pathway to citizenship after five years.
You also need to know and get the requirement for the course. If it requires certain skill or training, do them before coming. It will make your grades better and stress less. Some courses requires you learn R and SQL, if you don't know them, you must learn them in school which will be alot. Also my course required we get a high spec laptop, people that brought Microsoft surface and midrange ones, had lots of problem, one didn't learn his lesson and went through three laptops in a year, they kept packing up. Losing irrecoverable files, mostly assignments in progress. Whereas me that bought an HP laptop i7 with 16gig ram, 3.5ghz processor, got mine for 250k at computer Village, I later discovered it didn't have any video card, but it did the job well, still working optimally as I type. Hehe, I made sure it was that good for PC game reasons.
PS. Due to the pandemic, there's been a shift, I won't say unemployment, because some industry has lost jobs, others gained massively. For example. Work at home jobs, customer and IT support, health services..

Critically, you need to prepare for English test exams, I found Modeducation to be cheap and provide good support mostly if everyone that listens to you regularly take cover from Planetory Thunderstrike.
When they heard me speak, they were Frank to tell me I didn't need the prep class. This saved me from unnecessary stress and expenses. I only took the book and disc home and familiarise myself with the sample questions. I really enjoyed the process to say.

Finally, when you get good English score, and your finance packaging is set, by then you would have gotten your admission letter. Since you only need the English test for visa application.
Finance packaging is important mostly in complicated cases where you might need help with Proof of funds, they might help you with advice. Especially when you're new in this process, but you won't need them if you go the student bond route.

If you have your affairs in order, I must say that the system is direct and honest, there's no quota system or Hanky Panky.

And with this, I wish you Best of luck, See you in Ireland.

Hello everyone!

Just a quick one especially from those with experience.

What will your advise be to one who has a bachelors degree in an interdisciplinary field of Computer Science, Management Science and Information Science.

Has about 3 years experience working in IT Support role.

Got admission offers from DBS (MSc. Information Systems with Computing and NCI (Higher Diploma in Science in Computing).

What choice will you advise such a one to take and why?

NCI is a federal college.
Federal school are always number one in Ireland compare to DBS is private school
NCI is located in the IFSC area in the city and most of the IT department in those offices are filled with NCI alumni.
But IT graduates are hot cake in Ireland and it’s doesn’t matter if it is a private or public college

So are you saying that the HDip at NCI beats that particular MSc at DBS?

As far as I know in the world of IT
Masters don’t matter as long as you are good cool
But DBS is one of the best private college in Ireland.
But it’s up to you.
You will always get a job no matter where you study as an IT graduate
Check the employment rate of each school online for their graduates cool

I am trying to wrap my head around why NCI is offering you a Higher diploma ? Give or take you should be able to get MSc Data Analytics at NCI.

And like Seuuny4lif stated- NCI graduates have a better shot at fast employability in Dublin but overall if you are studying Data Analytics, Business Analytics , Cybersecurity / Network systems your chances are good irrespective of the school you graduated from
