Recently,I traveled to Benin and Jigawa states,i observed something that actually caught my attention.

I saw lot of churches(especially Pentecostals) in Urban areas,but, apart from Catholic and deeper life,i hardly saw churches in rural communities.

Another thing i observed was the very few number of churches in northern states, even in the northern Christian communities.

Now,my questions are: don't those in the rural communities need Christ as those in Urban areas?

Is there no need preaching to northerners?

If the foreign missionaries had selected only Urban areas, would they have left the comfort of Europe and bothered coming to Africa?

it's because they don't have money to give in rural area, compared to urban areas where people are willing to give money to their religious fathers to defeat the evil spirits in the rural area.

Because business thrives more in the urban na.....

That's not true. Depending on the location, you'll find Pentecostal churches in rural areas.

There's an RCCG parish in my village, my village is known for orthodox churches like C and S, ECWA and First Baptist church.

The RCCG got there about 15 years ago.

My mum's village, only one C and S church that's there. Before they allowed an RCCG parish come there, they had to go through my mum.

The parish is still standing there.

During let's go fishing program of the RCCG, they mostly plant churches in rural areas cause evangelism and welfarism is easier there, medical outreach, digging of boreholes, sharing of food and clothes etc.

Plus, land is cheaper there. Sharp sharp, them done buy land start to dey build church.

Marriage done carry me Comot for RCCG, so this is not be being partial.

your assumptions are not true. Obviously you judged based on the number of Churches you saw on the roadside, while sitting in the vehicle. Village churches don't need to be sighted along the roadside as they are important landmarks themselves.
City churches are always sighted by the roadside for visibility. It's that simple

Well... Those rich guys in the urban areas make pastors richer...


The poor farmers and firewood sellers save up to send money to their wards in the city to survive...So they'll likely not fall for those donations for churches....Or make pastors rich...So pastors will find it difficult to extort from them.

The RCCG has a mandate to plant churches in every five minute walk and 20 minute drive.

The mandate suits different environment, both rural and urban.

To call all pastors rogues is you calling the good and bad same name.

Me I will not follow you and do that one.

Maybe you should consider the fact that those missionaries didn’t do your people a favor. They came along and worked with the imperialists, the kidnappers, and the rapacious thieves to steal your land, flesh, and wealth. Your wealth and resources helped provide and still provides the “comfort of Europe” while they gave you the Eurocentric god derived from Judaism for you to admire and worship while denigrating yourself and your humanity.

Churches are concentrated in urban areas because that’s where the money is. Yes, churches are businesses, your pastors are business owners, and the business is motivational speaking; oftentimes bullshit. The rural areas do not need some dead rabbi to save them from an “original sin” concocted by the sexual deviant called Augustine of Hippo. They need a functional government not ampled by brain dead Christians and Muslims, the perpetually enslaved.

Even the Jews don’t consider your Christ to be anything more than a troublesome man and Christianity is based on their religion, and they probably have more insight into their own bullshit than y’all do.

But when it comes to you Africans and Jesus, you’re like the mourners who wail louder than the bereaved.

It’s past time to start studying history with a critical eye including the history of your religion because the bible might be “inspired by god” but it was written by people. People with agendas.

Beware of history from the perspective of the victor and view it more critically. Rural area people no dey pay too much tithe... Ministry can't grow in such area..
