I read some posts about how the airport is a run down and comparing it with $2bn airports globally. I went on youtube and watched the drone video of the project. My position is that anambra airport can compete with abuja airport when completed. I had the same feeling when I landed in abu dhabi in 2012 with the airport looking like a construction site with cranes and bulldozers all over the place. A look at abu dhabi airport today is mindblowing. With the layout of the anambra airport, if continuous investment is done over the next 4 - 8 years that project will be a thing to be proud of. Hopefully the govt that will take over from Obiano will not abandon the project and I also believe anambra investors will take advantage of opportunities to invest there. Its a state government airport and will not be subject to the bureaucracy of FAAN and its unions. I also believe air peace can tap into the market that airport will offer. My fear is that enugu airport will lose its relevance in the region but since the fed govt have refused to invest in it the way it ought to anambra can serve as the gateway airport to the south east.

You are absolutely correct. With 3.7km runway and tallest control tower building in Nigeria, Anambra international airport is set to compete with Lagos and Abuja international airports

Soon Anambra will be welcoming this category of Cargo airplanes!

Congratulations to Obiano for giving this great facility to Anambra, and indeed the rest of the region and Nigeria at large.

If Nigeria were indeed a united country, even people outside the region will be commending Obiano and giving him titles for a job well done to open up Nigeria for more international trade and commerce.

But, in Nigeria, all the black man specializes in is how to frustrate and pull each other down. I am so happy for Anambra state's achievement because I don't subscribe nor reason like a typical black man. A seriously flawed mindset of black people that has kept us down and against each other's progress worldwide.

You are very intelligent. With the length and width of Anambra international airport runway, there's no type of jet, however big than can't land at the Anambra international airport. Obiano is very futuristic

Apart from completing the remaining works at the Anambra International Passenger / Cargo airport, massive landscaping with trees, grass, and flowers is what must be followed up now. Hopefully, they have a landscaping team (Contractor) that does the landscaping work as a contract to ensure that it is properly done. This is also the best time for landscaping as we slowly enter the rainy season.

However, one final appeal I have seen among many Anambra indigenes and diasporans is for the MOU to develop the Anambra airport city (aerotropolis) to be signed now before Obiano leaves office. Whether we like it or not, the airport city will develop now that the airport has become a reality. The question now is whether it will be a re-creation of another Ochanja type development with unorganized, filthy markets and truck parks everywhere, or if we will manage to create something decent as a true airport city that will become a reference of development for the entire southeast. The difference between these two types of development is early intervention by the government to properly guide how the desired airport city should develop.

Most of us like how the development of Abuja was regulated to produce a decent, well-planned city. Abuja is better than Lagos because it was planned and the development regulated according to the master plan. I have come to trust Willie Obiano as a man committed to the quality and development of a place based on the master plan, not the chaotic market trader development we have in Nigeria. This is actually a rare attribute among many Africans especially Southeast governors!

My fear is that a new Anambra governor might have their typical funny and weird fixation of either building a mobile phone assembly plant as their only development, while totally neglecting government core functions of ensuring core developmental areas as the Anambra airport city has properly regulated development. That is why we are pleading to Obiano to sign the MOU for the development of Anambra International Airport City before leaving office. That is the only way to ensure that development within the airport city eventually follows the plan to meet our collective aspiration for a truly modern aerotropolis in Anambra state.

A well-planned and carefully designed residential and commercial development district similar to the video below will be desirable for the Anambra International Airport city (Aerotropolis). it will also help grow tourism and attraction of high-end quality investment into the state for such a district to exist close to the international airport.

Actually, the greatest painful shock among haters of Anambra in particular and Igboland, in general, is the God's speed this project was achieved. They hoped that in the usual Nigerian way of slowing a project down in order to call for contract re-appraisal and review to steal money, the project would not be completed.

They were wrong! Obiano was interested in writing his name in platinum in the history of Anambra state than stealing a few millions that will finish before the 3rd year after he left office.

I am so glad that Obiano mobilized his men and his resources to not just do a very high-quality project, but complete it in record time! Even if it meant no avenue for kickbacks through contract reviews. That is Witches story now is that Obiano squandered some $2 billion DOLLARS given to him by some GHOST. Since Anambra Budget for even the last 10 years will not total to $2 billion dollars.

That evil night owl that visits this forum every midnight is still in absolute shock since Friday the 30th of April, and has still been unable to fly at night for witches meetings since then. grin

The narrative of $2d got me laughing so much, that I asked one poster on Facebook to calculate Anambra's budget since 1999, that it is yet to reach $2d. He digressed and said that some Chinese businessmen gave Obiano $2d, and I asked him to show me a link where I can read about the $2d donation, he disappeared since noon, till now he hasn't responded. I don’t know the pilot’s perspective but the project is ongoing and not complete. Once the runway, apron and other safety critical systems are in place an airport can be put into use while work continues on other areas. Work can continue for the next 5 years as such projects are a continuum. It’s wrong to tag it a mediocre project. A few months ago it was a bare land and now it has metamorphosed into something. In a few months time it will also be different

These are PDP idiots, Obiano has just made the next election a walk over for APGA so their wailing is expected. The funny thing is many people didnt know the magnitude of the project till the 30th test running, the excitement across the state and beyond was something else, ndi Anambra have never been this proud and excited, from whatsapp status to everywhere. The PDP losers scored an own goal on this one because it was as if their veil of deceit against Obiano all these while was lifted on people, if you go through their posts you'll see many attacks from people against them, unlike before.

Despite the PDP madness it was interesting to see people like Oseloka Obaze and Chris Azubogu throw their support on the airport.

The 100 foot pound erosion project that all former governors abandoned that was about to destroy Nnewi, was fixed by who? Yes Obiano has performed very well considering how much Anambra has and its no hype. If other governors before him performed like him and did the airport, transformed Awka capital from a sleeping village to a city and other projects he would have consolidated on that.

Our information revealed that Mr. Ubah was arrested after attending his ongoing political visit to some parts of the state

An eyewitness who confirmed that the arrested said it is in connection with the recent burning of campaign cars and other security reports linked to Ifeanyi Ubah especially in Anambra as confirmed through several suspects who have confessed to the crime.

It was also confirmed that the team moved him to Abuja and all attempts to hear from his media failed as none were ready to respond to media agents present.
