His graduation time is too far, when it graduation time is that far unless u have strong work history. If not chances of u being denied a visa is very high

HND top up degree in Canada universities, allows Higher National Diploma (HND) graduates to ‘top-up’ their education and obtain a bachelors degree from a Canadian university or college.

In Canada, HND certificate holders with related Higher National Diploma (HND) can expect to complete the necessary courses within two to three academic years and be granted a bachelor degree upon achieving satisfactory grades.

For example, if you have an HND in Civil Engineering from Nigeria, most Canadian universities will give you admission into the 2nd or 3rd year bachelors programs in an engineering program.
The decision as to whether you’ll start in the second or third year depends on the number of transfer credits that is accepted from your previous HND degree.

do they even accept bsc for masters? if yes then the guy can upgrade his cert in Nigeria before leaving

My advice:

Look for a marine company, apply as an Electrical Officer Cadet.

Do your Cadetship for 12 months (sea experience)

Go to Ghana or Uk (do some research), enroll for an ETO Certificate of Competency.

Go back to the ship as an Electrical Engineer onboard.

There is a mad demand for you.

The salary? Madd

How much do they pay ETOs on the ship.

Hello Guys please I need your advise and experiences here;
I am a graduate of Electrical and Electronics engineering with an upper credit but since my graduation in 2008 I haven't been fortunate enough to get a job in my field hence I have been hustling any and everything to make ends meet but am always feeling misplaced you know like am not on the right track. so I am considering going back to school to improve on my qualification.

My intention is to get a higher degree in engineering preferably electrical power related from a Canadian institution but from my research so far masters degree with HND is out of the question in Canada (I hope am wrong) the most viable option is to apply for fresh admission but considering my age (mid 30s) a visa officer my deny my visa application considering I already have an HND why go for another degree or if I leave out my HND that would create a vacuum of over 10 years in my record (I also hope to be wrong). Although I don't mind going for certificate courses as well.

So guys please those who have experience and ideas on how to achieve my aim should kindly share.

Thanks so much

you will not get a student Visa since it has been too long you studied..try UK..

The admin that moved this 2019 post to FP must be a HND holder looking for escape route or he is high on expired metacafe..

Pls try USA schools, evaluate your Credentials through world educational services to make you HND equivalent to BS degree (4yrs). Then apply to schools of your choice by sending your credentials directly to the schools from WES.

Cheers on you journey to Japa.

Only issue with that is:
1) He needs an average 70% overall. Hopefully he has a dinstinction.
2) 2008 is over 12 years. To transfer credit to Lakehead uni or UBC, or UVic, the diploma usually must not be over 7 years. They may consider over if candidate has years of experience in the industry, but he has zero. The three unis listed are the only one for engineering transfers.

OP apply to any program of your choice I.e. certificates, degree or diploma.. If your application is tight, you won't be refused based on your age.
