As far as this country is concerned, you can work anywhere in govt agencies, so long you use connect. I know a chemistry graduate working in FIRS presently. Watin concern chemistry and FIRS? You just shoot your shot with your connect.

The Chairman can get you a job in the School, but comparing a Polytechnic Rector and the Board Chairman is like comparing a University Vice Chancellor and a Pro Chancellor.

The Rector is the Baba in this regard. He can allocate some slots to the Chairman.

In terms of hierachy, the Board Chairman and Pro Chancellor in Poly and Uni respectively are higher, but in terms of administration and who gets what, the Rector and the VC are the Boss.

The Rector is answerable to the governing council as stipulated in the Federal Polytechnic Act..... Before any recruitment is done in any school that has a governing council, The Rector Must have the approval of the Governing council... The Governing Council has the Constitutional powers as stipulated in the Polytechnic Act to remove the Rector if found guilty of any misappropriation.... He/she is telling you the truth, some people that got employed since January 2020 till date have not been enrolled on ippis in many agencies. Many federal universities and polytechnics are facing the same problem too.

Note that no ippis no salary.

seconded, I went for an interview that the list had to be retyped because of the Chairman candidates. They all got the job, they told the the interview panel that the Chairman sent them orally

Not true.it might surprise alot of people but in recuitments most times the rector is not as powerful as you think..
