On the bright side, it will get so expensive that people wouldn't mind going full solar energy.

Naija is just a funny place. More than 100% price hike last year and I currently spend a range of 50k per month o prepaid cards because my area was placed under those that have electricity for 18 hours plus yet na scam be that duration. How is N56/unit reasonable for a single phase customer? This government na fraud

Considering the economic hardship being experienced in the country, All these increments will only encourage illegal connection and meter bypass.

These 1diots did not even mull a single word about distribution of prepaid meters in all the nonsense they wrote up there.

Well, when there was no inflation, people were already unleashing their angers on them. Now that everything is tough on Nigerians, be ready to be accosted by "unknown attackers" in every home you take your 5tup1d estimated bills to.

I've been on 100% alternative energy for six years now. I'm free from the encumbrances of PHCN but I can't bear to see the cheating of Nigerians by these inepts.

You should consider riding solar. Now that you have prepaid meter, it will be easier for you to have alternative energy installed for your home. You can start little and alternate between solar and PHCN, thereby saving yourself more bucks spent on epileptic PHCN. With time you can increase your own capacity of production until such a time that you will totally jettison PhCN or use it for only heavy works such as ironing clothes.

I'm 100% solar, powering all moderate home gadgets you can think of. I still like to connect to the national grid but not until I'm able to lay my hands on a prepaid meter. I have been chasing BEDC for prepaid meter for 3 years now without getting anywhere with it. The woman in charge of BEDC - that former first bank MD - is touted to be the devil behind non-issuance of meters to customers. A woman fah!

And someone will be singing all over NL that "the future is female"
I kuku have solar but ehn I use AC in full as well during the day which means I’ll need to add either another set of four units of 300ah AGM batteries to my shelf or add another 8 sets of 320W solar panels again to increase generation during d day which as at now no be priority for me. Going full solar now will require me to give up AC and use every other heavy things during d day and spend d night with fan but I need to consider the boys as well cox Lagos heat mad and it’s choking at times

Shut up...are you living in Canada?! Even the current rate is unaffordable. We are just paying these Discos to keep them afloat. Nothing said about increasing the power generation and improving energy distribution. All they know how to do is to increase tariff. These people have really taken us for a fool! How can I be paying for something I'm not enjoying?! This should be strongly resisted.

These people are always saying there must be a minor or extra ordinary review intermittently but there are conditions for all these reviews

Power transmission must increase. But we have never been able to transmit more than 6, 000 kilowatt

More than half of consumers are not metered.

The regulators have been compromised to continue to approve all the increase

What has not been compromised in Nigeria? You are here typing Grammer...

in order to support the idiot in Aso Rock ,you decided to write this rubbish...

Have you had 24/7 electricity supply since the last year increase in tariff?.. The reason why the country will further be plunged into anarchy because people are seeing the evil government clearly now...

Wow! They didnt mention that the last review was at a 100% increase to the final user even though distribution to him didnt increase by a 100%. This happened less than a year ago fa shocked shocked shocked

God o....Nigeria needs intervention! So when someone that earns 50k pays above 10k to Electricity disco, how much will remain to buy food, pay school fees, rent, medicals, transport, etc? Things have really gone south in this Buhari administration. It was never this bad!

Nigeria system is designed to put masses in abject poverty and live a suffering and smiling lifestyle, pass from generation to generation.

This is a system that allows government/politicians to manipulate their poor citizen and followers

With your analysis how can someone with 50k salary or below 50k live a good life and have access to social amenities with that salary in this present day Nigeria? Where inflation is skyrocketing

It will be from struggle to struggle, sufferness to sufferness until they return to their maker

na una sabi. a country that can still not guarantee 24hrs electricity a day even if it's once in a week.

They should be ashamed of themselves, since the only thing they know and passed down to Disco and Genco is tarrif increases.Let them show Nigerians, the countless number of times they illegally Increased the l Prices without any correspondent increase in light to the public. You see, when a person fail in performing hi/her duty,it will be a blame game.It was Mr Fashola that told us then that if a govt cannot provide or fix Electricity in six months, yet he was there for 4-years,so what happened since then?
You have failed Nigerians but like father like son you wouldn't resign,as nobody is in charge of light in Nigeria for now!

Re: NERC To Consider Changes In Inflation, Exchange Rate & Gas Prices In Review by Nobody: 7:50am On May 04, 2021
Unrealistic, bunch of crooks, they should consider declining incomes and that fact that despite receiving subventions for the last 10 years the discos have failed to improve, they have failed woefully in the metering aspect and fault clearing.
