All this grammar na to increase electricity tariffs and more estimated billing. Waiting for the day Naija will stage a huge protest against this.. Electric bill is now more expensive than house rent, NERC is not talking about metering houses and those who have the old post paid meters, their readings are not being picked anymore. Which kind country be this sef

Africans need to stop sending raw material out to Europe and start production.

The machine that cuts cocoa and grinds cocoa beans into cocoa powder costs about $10000

We refine our own crude oil which is great.

Which other raw material we got?

Shut up...are you living in Canada?! Even the current rate is unaffordable. We are just paying these Discos to keep them afloat. Nothing said about increasing the power generation and improving energy distribution. All they know how to do is to increase tariff. These people have really taken us for a fool! How can I be paying for something I'm not enjoying?! This should be strongly resisted.

The current energy rate in Nigeria is double the energy rate in Ontario, Canada.....thats how expensive it is.... and Nigeria doesn't have a good job market the public has low purchasing power.

In everything, we want no increment .
Anything to move our darling nation forward and make life easier for the masses is what we are after.

I don't care if you report to admin like a child using NLpolicewoman or Eriggs. Ban is made for man.

You are the one promoting Buahri and you are the one saying God bless Nigeria.

You are the one promoting Buhari and you are also the one cursing politicians.

Why are you speaking from both sides of the mouth?

Only irresponsible, liars and deceptive elements do like that.

Lolz. I knew you would do that. grin

Very easy to predict.

You are not sharp or smart at all.

Ban or no ban, you are a deceptive person and a liar and you know it.

For nairalanders wondering why the power sector is condiering price increases, consider that the sector is in serious financial problem, and running at a loss.

1.As Nairametrics put it in a recent article...

In this regard, Nairametrics reported on 8th December that DisCos recorded loss of N58billion in unpaid electricity dues in Q2 2020 – indicating a collection efficiency of only 64.4%.

Nairametrics also reported in January that NBET owed GenCos in the country about N1 trillion. This appear to further uphold claims that the current arrangement between GenCos, NBET and DisCos is not really sustainable; and may require revision
.

2.Any Nairalander wishing to understand why we have issues in our power sector should read the PWC report Solving the Liquidity crunch in the Nigerian power sector (published 2018)..linked here

Below is page 18 from that report which summarizes everything.

These 1diots did not even mull a single word about distribution of prepaid meters in all the nonsense they wrote up there.

Well, when there was no inflation, people were already unleashing their angers on them. Now that everything is tough on Nigerians, be ready to be accosted by "unknown attackers" in every home you take your 5tup1d estimated bills to.

I've been on 100% alternative energy for six years now. I'm free from the encumbrances of PHCN but I can't bear to see the cheating of Nigerians by these inepts.

You should consider riding solar. Now that you have prepaid meter, it will be easier for you to have alternative energy installed for your home. You can start little and alternate between solar and PHCN, thereby saving yourself more bucks spent on epileptic PHCN. With time you can increase your own capacity of production until such a time that you will totally jettison PhCN or use it for only heavy works such as ironing clothes.

I'm 100% solar, powering all moderate home gadgets you can think of. I still like to connect to the national grid but not until I'm able to lay my hands on a prepaid meter. I have been chasing BEDC for prepaid meter for 3 years now without getting anywhere with it. The woman in charge of BEDC - that former first bank MD - is touted to be the devil behind non-issuance of meters to customers. A woman fah!

And someone will be singing all over NL that "the future is female"

What a pity.
