I have done my findings I just but ofcourse no one has the monopoly of knowledge..kindly share your thoughts.

lived all my.life in lagos till.2014.Abuja since then...but thinking about Jos.
I'm 36, IT professional n married with 2 kids...wife not really working. i currently work in an ingo that also gas field offices includin Jos...but my salary isnt that interesting to make me that comfortable in abuja considering the bills on my neck.
we stay in a 1BR apartment in one of the villages (chika precisely) in abuja and pays abt 370 yearly.

ive visited Jos more than 5 times and i keep loving it more in each visit...Rayfield and surroundings to be precise...calm, weather friendly, fresh n affordable food, my salary wud get me a comfortable 2BR flat... navigation to/from abuja is jst 4hrs..so i feel i can apply for a relocation to our field office in jos..or at worst work from abuja and travel weekends.

i dont intend living anywhere outside Jos south/Rayfield environs

as a family man...i find it most suitable to relocate there..most esp for the sanity n good environment for my children's growth -stressfree of going to school in abuja, the hot sun, bad electricity, havin to wake up to fan my.kids at night (ofcos i have Generator)..i stay in a noisy compound that dosnt befit me..many fake foods n fruits in abuja, ..i wonder if its the same Nigeria...but Jos looks like a greener pasture for me.
waduyu think??

If your work supports working remotely there is no reason whatsoever not to enjoy Jos(Jtown). Rayfield is very secured and there are many Affordable quality schools for your kids

Absolutely a great decision, I'm also here in Jos and I must say your assessment of Jos is correct especially with rayfield as your choice of base area, but I feel like Jos is really running to a high cost of living, base on my travel to various cities and states from Abuja and down south

Jos is a great place , the only problem is insecurity. Places like ray field is good and not too expensive but have to be careful about the insecurity problem in other part of the city and town

Let me be the first to welcome you to the home of peace and tourism. No reason am sir, Jos is one of the few places to settle down in Nigeria. With cheap foodstuffs, friendly people and above all the best weather in Nigeria. I'd advice you stick to your preference of rayfield cos other places like angwan rukuba, apata, dilimi, gada bui etc go spoil your children.

I tell people to try choose their battles and always win your war.
Financial Sufficiency is victory over poverty war.
@OP untill you own your house and have a comfortable home without managing to live in a one bedroom flat you should be less relaxed about your location.
If you can or know how try get involved in earning residually.
That's why I can't do physical jobs full time...howbeit online jobs are the best bet for financial sustainability and freedom to having time to plan a better future especially when you are getting paid in hard foreign currencies with better value than Naira.

You seem to have done the maths and economics (something most Nigerians don't do when taking life decisions), Jos is better for you than Abuja.

Regarding insecurity, nowhere is safe in Nigeria, as long as it's not in the core Islamic North (where nothing good has ever come out from).

Best wishes!

Jos is better than abuja, in terms of weather
And food, cheap housing as well, and besides it's somehow close to Abuja compared to other far states, since chika in Abuja is not worth your fancy and you know your spirit is in line with Jos, I advise you relocate to Jos, I love Jos for it's fresh cheap fruits and vegetables, it's calm and cold environment, but will you get a big job there and house to sustain you and your family, if not wait till you secure a house and job then relocate. But the riot in Jos, when it hits hard it can be a problem, but out side that it's a peacful place to be.
