[quote author=xristos post=101356641]I have done my findings I just but ofcourse no one has the monopoly of knowledge..kindly share your thoughts. lived all my.life in lagos till.2014.Abuja since then...but thinking about Jos. I'm 36, IT professional n married with 2 kids...wife not really working. i currently work in an ingo that also gas field offices includin Jos...but my salary isnt that interesting to make me that comfortable in abuja considering the bills on my neck. we stay in a 1BR apartment in one of the villages (chika precisely) in abuja and pays abt 370 yearly. ive visited Jos more than 5 times and i keep loving it more in each visit...Rayfield and surroundings to be precise...calm, weather friendly, fresh n affordable food, my salary wud get me a comfortable 2BR flat... navigation to/from abuja is jst 4hrs..so i feel i can apply for a relocation to our field office in jos..or at worst work from abuja and travel weekends. i dont intend living anywhere outside Jos south/Rayfield environs as a family man...i find it most suitable to relocate there..most esp for the sanity n good environment for my children's growth -stressfree of going to school in abuja, the hot sun, bad electricity, havin to wake up to fan my.kids at night (ofcos i have Generator)..i stay in a noisy compound that dosnt befit me..many fake foods n fruits in abuja, ..i wonder if its the same Nigeria...but Jos looks like a greener pasture for me. waduyu think?? Jos is cool but, food stuffs is same all over d country except d vegetables though.d Rayfield u mentioned is not as cheap as u thought, try and prepare 500k and above if u want to stay in Rayfield pls. |

Op look at the havoc those guys wrecked in Jos North where the University of Jos is domiciled. They Invaded, dominated and have taken over the area. The barbarians in most of their many senseless riots even made attempt to invade the institution. Look at the damage those guys did to the once beautiful joyful city of Jos in the name of sectarian crisis. Now the city is sharply divided into two polar halves just like what obtains in Kaduna. Mehn this guys are something else. Last last this naija go divide o if this tribalism and religious intolerance persists. 1 Like |

momodub: You nailed it , that is what I was expecting people to say , Jtown is nice to stay and keep your family, but economically sterile, you will have to look for other major cities for you income. You can keep your family in Jtown while working in Abj, just 3 hours drive away, minus the security wahala on the road between Jtown and Abj. Since your family will be staying in Jtown you can look for more affordable accommodation in abj, and pray that things improve in the fuure so that you can stay with your family. The phases of life. |

mrdharkchild: Well an advocacy is not always in tandem but to help create awareness as long as there is a relation to the subject matter. You using my Deep Quote out of context shows your ability to comprehend. And you intentionally avoided my question and ill ask again "where in my comment did i suggest that the OP resigns' like you falsely allegedly stated....kindly be honest to point it out to show your level of comprehending ability. If you want to quote people out of context then just avoid trying to do so with my mention because i don't hesitate to expose such IGNORANT acts on a public space as NL. @Seniorwriter |

xristos: I can relate to what you're facing in Abuja and you considering to relocate to Jos. I've always loved Jos too due to the weather and fresh cheap fruits, infact I was posted there for NYSC but had to redeploy back to Lagos where I came from bcz of the crisis that year. Hard decision to take because I also wanted to go to the film school in Jos(best film school in Nigeria) Today I live in Abuja (pyakasa) close to where you live. 400k a yr, 1 bedroom. Not easy as a family man too but I thank God for life. Your post is actually making me reconsider Jos, but getting discouraged about the unrest in Nigeria at the moment 1 Like |

Seniorwriter:Stop running yourself into the state called confusion. Op asked a question, did your reply answer that question? No. U tried distracting him with your comments, so he'd do a follow up and ask u to show him the way. Next time u want to throw a financial advice, do not drop a motivational quote That is bereft of both head and tail. I noticed you didn't drop any quotes this time. mrdharkchild: The OP has gotten some suggestions point of correction he didn't ask you to help him ask NL members ...unless you tell me he hired you for that....SMH It's obvious you have very little to do online ill advise you to also get residual income ways to fill up those idle times you've got there are websites that you could run errands online for a fee rather than do it for free.....mind you even if you quote me a million more times I will ignore because I'm moving on. mrdharkchild:Grudges online? SMH..... NL has rules so I can't post such web portals or info....you can try google skillshare. There are NL members that have started earning through my tutelage but fail to come on here to testify...don't be like them when or if you earn via my info. xristos:You will love it in Jos since you have a decent job/income. Its hustling that is generally hard here cos of limited opportunities. Life is generally more affordable here compared to major cities in the north. Accommodation (360k will get you a decent 2 bedroom flat around Guratop, TCNN, maiadiko, favwei areas all within Rayfield), food, school for your kids and transportation. But you will need to take it easy with the flexing if you are the hanging out type. Lots of joints to spend money on and alot more peeps to help you do that. Else, you'll be fine. 2 Likes |

I will tell u this; if u can be transferred to your office here in jos; do it. Rayfield is a beautiful place. Most Rich people in Abuja have built or rented a place for their family there while they are still working in Abj. It's a standard place where even white workers in Nigeria keep their families there because of weather; constant light and security. My dad relocated from Lagos to Jos while I was in primary 6. I was mad!!! but now; he has his own house and 2 other houses which he rents out and his colleagues are still renting houses in Lagos 2 Likes |
